Do I need the Modem/Combo?

So I have a small white ONT (I think that's what it is, Where the fiber comes and out comes an ethernet) And then an ethernet goes to an Arris Modem/Router Combo and from out of that it goes to my router. My question is can I just bypass the Modem/Router and go directly from ONT to router.
