returning direct tv equipment

I switched from Uverse TV to DirectTV but kept internet and phone. The instructions to return the leased equipment have the serial numbers for the 3 boxes but also have a picture of the gateway.  Don't I keep the Gateway for my phone and internet service?  Do I return the remotes and the WAP or recycle them?

Good Morning @evtermike

Mike, that is a very good question. With bundled services, such as U-Verse, returning the equipment is very easy. As you have stated, you did keep the internet service and the phone line service active and just disconnected the TV service in favor or getting DirecTV.  All you do need to return is just the receivers and power cables and the WAP.  The remotes and other audio/visual items do not need to be returned, those can be discarded if you prefer.  All you need to do is take the required items, excluding the gateway, to your local UPS and or FedEx Corp store. The reason why we need to do it through a Corp store is the return process is prepaid.  Once the equipment is return to us then we will process the return and place the receivers  back into inventory.

If you have any further questions, or need any further assistance, please reach back out on this thread and we will do our very best to help.

Keep the proof of return paperwork from the store. Sometimes the equipment doesn't get entered as returned and you may get a bill from AT&T for unreturned equipment. The only way to prove the return is with the numbers off the paperwork from the store.

My mother has disconnected her service with DirectTV on May 24, 2019. She has not received her box and the pre-paid label. These were to be delivered to her within 4-7 days.  Can you assist with this please?

We need to return out Direct TV equipment, they did not send a label with the boxes. How can we get a return label?

@CraigMA   You might want to ask your question on the DirecTV forum.  This is the Uverse TV forum.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME! I've called four times to get a box and return label and no one will help me or send me one. It's been two weeks and I've received nothing. They also won't give me the address of where to return my equipment? Why not? I want this nightmare over with once and for all. NO ONE WILL HELP ME. Why can't they just email me a return label? Or just give me the address so I don't get charged for this equipment.

@goodwin2  Use Google to search for the nearest location of "The UPS Store" or "FedEx Office".  AT&T has contracts with both.  Take your equipment to either one, they'll box it up and ship it for you.  They'll give you a receipt.  DO NOT LOSE THAT RECEIPT.

BTW, I'm closing this 2 year old topic.  If you want to continue this conversation, please open your own thread.
