Problems after Cat5 install

A couple of weeks ago our modem went out. Called in for a tech to come take a look and move the gateway setup out of my kid's room. Upon arriving he noticed I had cat5 running to his room. I told him all the rooms have it and he decided to switch all 3 receivers to cat5.

The picture is great. The full dvr works in the main room.

The second receiver is wired directly to the modem, so I don't get access to the recording or pause/rewind live shows feature.

Third receiver that's away from the modem but still cat5 now gets recordings and the only show that we can pause/rewind live is the same show that the main dvr is tuned to IF it's even turned on.

I've tried multiple restarts. For all 3 receivers.

Would I be better suited to switch the unit that's in the same room as the modem to a wireless version? And maybe the same thing for my third receiver?

Just some theories would be helpful.

Sorry if this has been mentioned previously on other threads. I didn't see it while searching.

Thanks.

It was running a coax system with terrible screen lag and pausing on its own as well.
