I have a Sony TV connected to my DVR via HDMI.
if I pause th tv video for a long time, the DVR and TV turn off.
How do I change or adjust this set-up? Thanks!

None of the att equipment has any control over your tv. The tv turning off must be due to some sleep setting of its own. Is it energy star rated? If so that may be why the tv turned off because like the uverse equipment, to get an energy star rating, it will need to "turn off" (for some definition of "off") after a specific number of hours (8 I think for the att equipment).

Are they actually 'turning off' or is the screensaver coming on? Are all of the lights on the front of the DVR going dark?
What you are describing is odd and unusual and there's no changing or adjusting to be had.

You are VERY correct. After reading your suggestions, I determined that the Pace AT&T U-verse DVR was still on. The Sony Bravia XBR-55X900E has a Power Eco setting option that turns the TV off if no signal is detected for 15 minutes. Thank YOU!!!
