Can't play recordings

Our DVR indicates that it is recording and has recorded shows that we set to record, but tells us "Recordings list is unavailable".  Everything else seems to work fine.  

This seems to have started immediately after a very short power outage.  I've tried rebooting everything and even tried "factory reset" but it doesn't reset using the instructions.

Power outages can fry equipment, be it the gateway, receivers or the DVR.  If you've tried rebooting the DVR and the gateway, call CS.  They can do some testing from their end and if they determine that your DVR is toast, a new one will be sent for self install.  You will lose any recordings but scheduling will remain.  You have 14 days to return the bad one.

I called customer service and Jose quickly determined that the main box/DVR was still off after the power outage.  That's all it was, thanks.
