4K channels on U-verse

Will any 4K channels be available on U-verse
And is u verse making new boxes anytime soon to keep up with competition is it done and we soon get direct tv

No new uverse stb's yet. Possibly when a new software update that combines uverse and att interfaces into one. If I understand correctly, only a hr54 genie combined with a specific mini genie will get 4K on dtv. So be sure to research what will be needed. Go to the dtv forums to find out. The dtv user interface is very different from uverse. You may want to try dtv at an att store to see if it is worth switching to dtv.
