Troubleshoot AT&T U-verse app not working


Why is my Mobile App not working? App & website troubleshooting.


Having trouble signing into the U-verse online app?  Not able to sign into HBOGO or ESPN? Were you able to before? Having trouble accessing it from your mobile device? How about a tablet or phone? Not to worry!! We have some recommendations that may help!


How to fix your Mobile app from my Smartphone or Device 

  1. Make sure you are using the correct member ID to sign in. You can find it here
  2. Reset the device.
  3. Delete cache. Varies on phone, browser or device operating system.
  4. Uninstall and reinstall the app
  5. Verify you have the latest software/ operating system on your phone or tablet – click here of a list of devices
  6. Turn off other apps that may be in use
  7. Make sure you have U-verse TV service and appropriate package – if you do not have U-verse TV, you can see if it is available by signing into your account at att.com.
  8. Reset your password – This can help sync up your account.
  9. In some instances, restoring the phone has resolved app function. You may lose pictures and other data if this is performed. 
  10. Also, be sure to report/post a review in the applicable software store for your affected device to help address an issue.

Note: U-verse TV customers can have up to five mobile devices registered per ID (master or sub) at any given time.


The U-verse app requires that you have the latest iOS. If your device is not compatible with the latest iOS, the app will not workTo view online content, you must be subscribed to the U200 or above. 

How to fix your app from my Computer or Browser 

  1. If you are using a browser, make sure you have the latest browser. In some cases using a browser like Chrome or Firefox has improved the experience.
  2. Close out the browser and restart it
  3. Delete Cache and Cookies
  4. Update the browser to the latest version. Click here for a list of Operating Systems and Browsers.


uverse.com update:

AT&T is ending support for U-verse streaming via U-verse.com through supported browsers, Effective October 31st. AT&T customers will still have access through the Uverse.com on the iOS and Android platforms. Not available on Windows OS.

U-verse App iPhone problems

After updating and finally getting the app to work on my iPhone 6+, I accidentally chose a movie or a channel to which I am not subscribed. Now the app says "There is a problem with your phone's configuration. Please update or restore it with iTunes. QP1528". I spoke to an AT&T guy who's said to reset all settings. I did that and it worked but it took forever to get my phone back to the way I had it. I now have the same issue and don't want to reset my phone. Is there something else I can do? Will I continue to have this problem if I do it again?

None of the suggestions work. I tried everything without success. There are so many others with the same issue.  Perhaps it's time for an update ... please!

ATT mobile service is temporarily unavailable UVERSE

 I have an iphone 5 and have tried repeatedly to sign onto my UVerse account to watch shows, etc....  Everytime I try, I get an error message about the mobile service being "temporarily" unavailable. It doesn't seem temporary to me because it happens everytime. How can this be fixed? Thank you.

Having trouble using U-verse credentials on HBO GO

I am subscribed to HBO, yet am unable to use my credentials on my Roku to access HBO GO. Please advise.

CSN / NBC Sports Live app

I am subscribed to CSN Bay Area (Now NBC Sports) through my uverse account. However when I try to sign into the New (converted CSN to) NBC Sports app. System tells me I have no subscription. Chatted in for several days to technicians online. I am losing faith that this issue will get resolved. It all started with the name change. now I can not sign on the app or online. Anyone with a solution?

Unable to use NBC Sports to stream games

I am trying to use the NBC Sports website to stream a game that is not available on TV. I sign in through UVerse and it gives me the error:


We're Sorry


It looks like your TV subscription does not provide access to this service. Please contact your TV provider for more information.


I changed my UVerse password as suggested in an earlier post but that did not solve the issue.

Re: Unable to use NBC Sports to stream games

I looked at the reviews for the NBC Sports app, and Comcast / Direct TV/ U-Verse / Cox, customers are all having the same issue. they have overwhelmingly bad reviews due to this known issue. Im guessing if you have U-verse they will tell you to purchase an additional package as they did me (an employee) and it still will not work proper as it did when it was CSN.

U-verse App Crashes


I have the Uverse app on my Samsung Tab Pro 8.1 (Android version 4.4.2). The Uverse app always worked until ATT's last app update (approx. 2-3 months ago). Now every time I try to watch "Live TV" I get an error message that says, "Unfortunately AT&T U-Verse has stopped;" it goes back to my tablet's home screen and I am able at times to connect to On Demand, but not "Live" anymore. 


I have a few other friends who have told me they are experiencing the same problems on their Android tablets which began after your latest update,  and I know at least one of them has  a 4.2.0 as well. I've tried Uninstalling and reinstalling your app at least a half dozen times, as well as called technical support to no satisfaction.  FWIW, your app works fine on my Android phone, version 6.0.1.


Please help! I'm at my wits end over this. Your app's latest update seems to have left your 4.2 customers out in the cold.

Android AT&T app not showing Fox News Channel available for live viewing on the app.

Just days ago I was able to watch Fox live on the app. Now it's not even coming up on my guide while I'm at home watching the channel!?!? I have it, but apparently the app is having an issue with that channel. It's the only one I watch in the app, so I'm not sure if that's the only one missing. Thanks!

Uverse.com website issue

Is anyone else experience a problem being able to watch programs once signed into uverse.com?


I informed ATT yesterday and still am unable.  I can get to my account information but not live tv, or any programs.

Can't watch The Simpsons on Uverse App

About a year ago I was having this same problem but then I downgraded my TV package to the UBasic package so it didn't matter anymore & At&t stopped looking into the issue. I have since upgraded to the U200 package and the problem remains a year later. The problem:  When I try to play The Simpsons on FOX using the Uverse Android app, the app exits and asks if I want to reopen the app or report the problem. I have already reported the problem many times with no response. This also happens with Family Guy as well (only on FOX, not TBS). Plus only the latest episode will make the app exit; if I play an earlier episode, it will play an ad, followed by the intro to the show but then I get error code FE0006. None of this happens on the Uverse website when using my computer. I actually think this is an issue with FOX but I don't know how to contact them. Is anybody else having this problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Looks like we got screwed, and u-verse apps, internet, xbox,  and website are shutting down:
Notice Appearing in USA Today on April 18, 2017
On or after May 30, 2017, the Uverse.com site may be retired and no longer available for video streaming. Additionally, on or after May 30, 2017, the U-verse app may be unavailable on the XBox One and Windows mobile operating systems as well. Customers will still be able to stream via the U-verse mobile app on all other supported platforms. More information will be available at Uverse.com.
