Why did AT&T run my credit 3 times to set up one service order?

I set up new service online but had to speak with a representative the following day. Had a service date conflict with previous tenant in the home.  Was resolved however, my credit was run three times in the course of three days.  Why?  Now my credit score has dropped due to the amount of new hard credit inquiries on Equifax.  I want two of them removed. How can I do this?

Hello @texasmom2,

Your credit report is important and any unexpected inquiries can raise a concern!  I can help guide you towards the proper route to handle this.

In order for this to be resolved, I would refer you to the credit bureau in which this credit report comes up on.  Upon speaking with them, mention you would like to dispute the 3 inquiries from AT&T.  They will file a claim and will be in contact with the proper department with AT&T in order to get this resolved.  After submitting a dispute claim, any further investigation or status of it is handled through the credit bureau.

I hope this information helps.  Have a great day!

I would like to know why direct tv made a Unauthorized Hard Credit Inquiry on Credit Report ? My credit went down 75 points .  This really ruined my credit I am trying to get a loan and this was not approved by me.  Please tell me what to do.  I need this to be fixed ASAP.
