What a deal. Get uverse internet, lose my dial tone!

So I have been without dial tone for over a week now and no one at ATT customer service can do anything or give me any information.  They just keep rescheduling the appointment.  I responded to a special offer from ATT to go from DSL to uverse internet.  I did not sign up for phone service.  I wanted to keep my reliable POT line.  When they installed the uverse internet, I lost my dial tone.  Tech kept saying it was something that needed to be fixed at a central station or something like that.  Called ATT customer service again tonight and was told a supervisor would call back in a hour.  Guess what.  That was two hours ago and no call yet.  I can not believe how bad customer service has been.

My service was restored finally on Thursday. That was two weeks without
phone service followed by 5 days without internet. What was so frustrating
was no one seemed to be able to communicate with each other. We had 7
techs come out over the course of those two weeks and not one had any notes
on what the previous tech had found. We had to explain the situation each
time. Eventually a supervisor got involved and engineers were sent to some
underground location to solve the problem. The whole thing was a customer
service disaster. I spent so much time on the phone with AT&T customer
service, I went over my mobile minutes. Please tell me how I get
reimbursed for my time and lost services. I do not want to spend any more
time on hold explaining the situation because no one apparently makes notes
on our account anywhere.
