Watch uverse programming on mac

Is it possible to hook my uverse programming box to my 2011 Mac and use it as a tv? I looked up USB to hdmi convertion cables but they all say they are for converting frus usb to hdmi, instead of the other way around. My Mac is 27" and I have a second uverse tv box so I'd like to use my Mac like a tv if its possible.

Kellyville - You can connect the output of the U-verse STB to watch TV on your computer. Many devices are available to accept the STB output -S-video, composite, component, HDMI, analog ch3 - into the computer USB. Just make sure you get one to take video in, not output to a TV.
SOme are available with STB control software and IR blaster.
Here is an example - http://www.elgato.com/elgato/na/mainmenu/products/Video-Capture/product1.en.html

Another method is slingbox & a number of other s, that connect to the STB same as above, control the STB via IR blaster and is played on any computer via the internet.

What is not possible is connecting the computer at the network level (cat5 or COAX) & watching TV - Eliminating the STB.
