U-verse, ATT and Yahoo problems: merger mania

I cannot fathom why after years ATT's (dis?)integration with Yahoo is still a hot mess. Maybe it's just because I've been a loyal customer for so long.

Recently I went to change a Yahoo password due to the security breaches they've had and lost all connections to my @yahoo.com mail account. And, more importantly, to my paid Flickr account. After standing in the rain for about 45 minutes on the phone with an ATT rep (who was GREAT BTW) we sort got it going. It seemed to maybe take a while for the change to propagate back to Yahoo, maybe due to their own security issues. This is maybe the third time I've had to be on the phone to change a password, which is both insecure and annoying.

I've had ATT internet since @pacbell.net, and when we all got static IPs. So I appreciate my account has some very odd artifacts. But I wanna fix this once and for all time.

So, first, how can I determine what at both Yahoo and ATT is being managed under my "U-verse" account? The tech support person could see several email addresses (going back to pacbell, which still seems to be under a business plan, while I have a residential U-verse account), and the Yahoo ID and Flickr account. I, however, can figure out no way to access that information. During this latest debacle BOTH ATT and Yahoo's user ID retrieval  wizards couldn't find my ATT and/or Yahoo user ID...which should be the same.

Second, can I somehow migrate Flickr back to a non-ATT Yahoo account? I realize that's probably impossible with my @yahoo email address, but at least with that I can just forward all mail to a more reliable service.

Third, should I just cancel out entirely and start all over? The tech person was pretty aware of Yahoo/ATT merging issues, but she didn't know what I should do.

Thanks.

It would sound to me that any questions you need answered are not going to be answered by anyone posting on these forums, so I would recommend that you send a Private Message to the ATTU-verseCare Community Specialist team.  One of the specialists will respond to your PM shortly.  Please look for the flashing envelope at the top right of the page for your response from a team member.

One of the guys can work with you to get you the answers your seeking.

I used to be a part of our website assistance team that handled this issue on a fairly consistent basis. It definitely is a tricky situation. Your Yahoo id is normally merged with the primary member id (what your primary att email address is known as), but can be merged with a subaccount. I believe that a ticket has to be created to get them unmerged, but it's been awhile, so the process may have changed. Hope you can get this resolved.

I just got mine resolved yesterday....
Call 1-877-312-5550 ext. 4 and ask for the Web Assistance department. I was on the phone with 6 support people over 5 hours yesterday and got my S"BC merged ID/ no longer an Uverse customer" thing rectified. - Angel in Web Assistance was a real angel...as was everyone else, but the other departments don't really know that Web Assistance exists...they will keep running into walls with the lack of information provided for them. Keep cheerfully thanking them....worked for me, and I'm soooooo grateful I got it resolved. Good luck!
