AT&T property claims for damages

 PROPERTY DAMAGE CLAIMS image001.png

Helpful information to file claims with AT&T

Accidents happen, and we apologize for any inconvenience you may be experiencing. Whether you need to file a new claim with AT&T or track an existing claim, we’ve got you covered.

Claim Information

AT&T claims are handled through our third-party administrator, Sedgwick.

Note: If human life, health, or safety is threatened by damage to electrical, water, or sewer lines, mitigate your damages by calling your local electrical company or a local plumber to help you with the immediate problem.

Once a claim has been filed, a Sedgwick adjuster will contact you within 3-5 business days to interview you about the incident. Please ensure that you take photos of the damage/ incident.

File a new claim

Call AT&T at 1-800-288-2020 and let any agent know that you’d like to open a new claim against AT&T. They will ask you a series of questions related to the incident and provide you a submitted claim number once the claim is submitted.

Track an existing claim

If an AT&T representative has given you a submitted claim number and you haven't heard anything in 2 business days, or you've already filed a claim and want to follow up, you can go to www.mysedgwick.com and register as a new user using your submitted claim number. You can frequent the site for claim updates and also contact your Sedgwick adjuster.

For damage to yards, plants, or bushes, please call the BWIRE group at

  • 800.924.9420, prompt 2.
  • Hours: 7:30 am - 6 pm ET (Monday - Friday).
  • If the claimant is not an AT&T customer, then call the Telco Repair Group at 866.410.7414.

I agree. So sorry you are having to deal with this. We replaced our equipment that was damaged and know that it will be a long time if ever that they even come up to tell the truth. All we have gotten so far is things like there is no voltage on the line-the voltage surge occurs???. Double talk, no results. Blessings to you. Interesting that they put their lines in the sewer. Pretty thoughtful.

Due to damages at the time that the contractors were installing fiber optic in my neighborhood, my water and sewer provider is asking me to reach out to the contracting company used at that time. Need to know how and whom to speak to for such contact information or to point me in the right direction at the very least.

Hi, I also reside in San Antonio, do you happen to know the name of the contractor company that was used; what resolution did you receive.

AT&T is "upgrading" the service in my neighborhood.  So far, that means big machines blocking our streets, fences getting knocked down, and yards being dug up.  In my particular case, subcontractig crews (that don't identify themselves as AT&T and "no habla ingles") have dug a hole approximately 5 feet deep, 12 feet long, and 6 feet wide.  They've compromised our fence and they are at least four feet outside of their utility easement.  Nobody from AT&T can tell me what's going on.  Is anyone really in charge of this project and how are they held accoutnable for the path of destruction these subcontractors are leaving in their wake?

Hi. My irrigation pipe was cut during fiber optic installation. I didn't realize it until recently even though the 400 dollar water bills should have been a clue. My yard maintenance crew discovered the cut. I had someone come fix it and even has pictures of the damage. I need to know who to send my claim to

Digging crew spent 4 months destroying my irrigation and landscape lights (March to Aug).  I had my irrigation fixed and filed a claim.  Now Sedgwick (after not responding to emails and phone calls) says my repair was excessive and expect me to be out thousands of dollars.  Stay away from AT&T.

I was repeatedly told by AT&T that after 5 failed did attempts that damage would paid for.  They broke my irrigation line under my driveway.  It cost $5000+ for multiple repairs and they will only pay $2800.  I need help from AT&T to bridge that gap or I recommend turning away that salesperson.

I got home one night and saw a huge pile of dirt in my front yard surrounded by a temporary orange fence. I later found out that my new next door neighbors were experiencing service issues and place a call into AT&T. They came out, dug up the yard, and placed the fence around the yard as they had to come back. The next day when I arrived home, the hole was filled and fence removed leaving a 4' x 12' gravesite in my front yard. Note that I had no idea who had dug up the yard and no attempt was given to me, the homeowner, any idea of what was going on.

This is what my yard looked like before the digging (just had my house appraised on 09/2017):

I called AT&T, explained the problem, and got a ticket #: NC0NT602. I was told to expect someone out in about two weeks (that would put us at 10/11/2017).

On 10/25/2017, I called again to get a status on the yard repair. The rep told me the ticket had been closed because whoever looked at it said "there was no problem". Huh? I explained the situation once again and told the rep the gravesite was still in my front yard. I was given a new ticket #: NC0NZT55 and was told to expect someone out on 11/01/2017.

Even though I am not an AT&T customer, I would like this problem fixed (I think it is obvious there is a problem). I feel I have been patient and more than reasonable in giving AT&T the opportunity to do the right thing.

I hope someone from AT&T is monitoring these forums, will look up those ticket numbers I have provided, and take the appropriate steps to resolve this problem.

Thank you.

I must give credit where credit is due.

I came home this afternoon and noticed my yard had be re-sodded! I'll have to check with my lawn people to see what I can do this late in the season to help it take but hats off and many thanks to AT&T for getting out here and getting this done.

I will be placing AT&T back into the "good guys" column and I will clear their good name with all my friends!

Thanks AT&T for coming out and doing the right thing!

Today's adventure started with a backed up toilet that flooded and made a huge mess.  We jumped in quickly and got the worst of it cleaned up.  But after 15 minutes, I still could not plunger or snake the clog loose.  Pro Tip: even though it's gross, take a picture.

I found the flush-out in the front yard, and after popping the cap, another nasty mess flowed out.  Roto-Rooter was the first one I could get to come out.  Great service.  After clearing it, the manager came by with a camera and guess what we found.   AT&T fiber cable running right through a shattered pipe.

Turns out this happens so often, that Roto-Rooter has a pair of guys just to work with AT&T.  Roto-Rooter will bill AT&T 4828.  I hope file a claim on Monday to recoup the 390 I spent getting the line cleared.  I'm also wondering if I can claim something for the hardwoods getting class 3 contamination.  I should have taken that pic.
