Neighbor connects to Uverse connection point on my property, but ATT says I can't get Uverse.

I actually posted this text to a someone elses forum posting but it isn't getting any attention.  I have been requesting Uverse for years.  Each time ATT said I can't get Uverse.  The "straw that broke the camel's back" was my new neighbor got Uverse using my ATT connection point.  So here is some information:

  1. I stopped an ATT Field Technician and he said I can get UVerse and he doesn't understand why ATT is saying I can't.
  2. The ATT/Uverse Connection point is on my property for all neighboring properties.  I have two neighbors.
  3. One neighbor, who lives >150yds away from the connection point (see number 2), has Uverse.  When they installed Uverse they ran a line above ground (now buried) to his home. I, in theory, could have run down his driveway, picked up the uverse hardware and dragged the cable to my house and thus getting Uverse.  With cable to spare.
  4. My other neighbor, who lives 20 yards from the connection point, and had a new cable run from exactly the same connection point of the neighbor who got Uverse, said ATT said "they can't get Uverse."  Yep, you heard it, exactly the same connection point and they even ran a new line.
  5. I went online to check for availability of the other neighors who live even closer to the ATT communication equipment and some have Uverse, but neighbors right next door can't get UVerse.  The website said "not available".  The fiber crosses their properities. The ATT Tech says "everyone in my subdivision can get UVerse."
  6.  I have created several cases with ATT where the person was supposed to call me back, but I never received a call.  When I would call ATT, I come to find that the case was closed because of "it's not available to your house."  This is where I'd start all over again.  At the end of the story, the new ATT Customer Service person, who would agree with me, would start the process all over again.

The most frustrating thing in the world is ATT saying I can't get Uverse, but all logic says I can.  Even their own technician says I can.  But I will never stop trying.

Please help me.

I would recommend that you send a Private Message to the ATTU-verseCare Community Specialist team.  One of the specialists will respond to your PM shortly.  Please look for the flashing envelope at the top right of the page for your response from a team member.

If you can get Uverse these guys will make it happen.

All, here is the run down.  First, I now have Uverse :).  It was a close one though. I was almost denied again because ATT's data said I was to far away and that my neighbor got it because he was closer.  The fact was I was actually closer than he was.  What made the difference was downloading a copy of the county records of all the lots back here in my subdivision.  I then researched what ATT says is Uverse eligible of each home.  I added notes to the document where the fiber/copper ran, connection points, etc.  The technician said that the document will likely make the difference when I shared it with him.  Thus now I have Uverse.  It took +3yrs, but i now am at 20M speeds instead of DSL speeds.  Joining the forum and sending an email directly to Uverse made the difference.  I strongly recommend it.

Wow.I'm exacting facing the same issue with Uverse and i did almsot everything that's mentioend here other than sending an email to the direct uverse team. AT&T customer support told they can't share the uverse email id and its only for internal use. Shame on them they are not giving any help over the phone.I just sent an email regarding uverse issue to  ATTU-verseCare. I hope they will get back to me with some right answers.

I have the exact same problem as you did, except AT&T still denies I can get it.  A technician also told me that I could get it and he doesn't know why AT&T just won't turn it on for me.  My neighbors have U-verse.  Very frustrating, I used to have AT&T DSL but they took that away from me and now I'm on Exede Satellite internet which is OK but I prefer an unlimited internet connection. This has made me hate AT&T, never will I reccomend them to anyone, EVER.
