The recent issue with the Motorola Gateway/Router NVG510 has been fixed!
This posting here to the forums did the trick. Some nice people who work for
AT&T customer care actually read my post and responded quickly.
A gentleman named Robert from Central Time zone, don't know where, sent
me an email and made arrangements for a technician to come out and resolve
my issues here. He first swapped out the older Motorola device for a newer
Pace 5168 NV gateway device. Nothing else was checked out since we both
felt the gateway was the issue. It worked right away.
However, that only lasted up to one hour since he left here. Then problems as
before reappeared. Again another appointment was made for the following day.
The technician arrived on time and this time explored everything. The jack, the
wiring coming into the apartment, etc. Many problems were found that was
causing interferrence with the signal intermittantly. The entire cable or wire
was replaced from the junction box outside into the apartment and relocated
the jack sixty-five feet from living room into my bedroom where I use the
computer. The signal quality was greatly improved and now everything is very
The nice gentleman from central time zone Robert also waived the service fee
as I told him that I did not call for help sooner since I could not afford the usual
service fee for this. He said that it was intention to make sure my service worked
as it should and so promised to get to the bottom of the issues until resolved.
My faith in AT&T was saved. They did a great job for me and that is why I have
been and will continue to be a loyal AT&T U-verse customer. That is my humble

Yes, finally it is fixed and has been fast and stable all this time now.
I am very satisfied and wish I had known to try contacting someone
through these forums before since it was much faster in resolving
