Are ports 21130 and 21131 reserved for special use by UVerse?
I am trying to connect via internet (outside my home) to my new OTA DVR tablo. I was instructed to forward port 21131 to port 8887 and 21130 to port 80.
I connected to my UVerse router, went to Applications, Pinholes, and DMZ and added a custom setting to map the ports (see below). However, when I go to portchecktool, it cannot reach the port.
Can anyone offer advice?
thanks

Okay, I am looking at Access Tablo From Internet and it says port 31881 to port 8887 and port 31882 to port 80.
At any rate, using my ports here is how I would configure my router:
Port (From) 8887
Map to Host Port 31881
Port (From) 80
Map to Host Port 31882
To add to the confusion I cannot find a listing for ports 2113x or 3188x.

I can tell you that I have ports open on my firewall for my work IP phone. 4 to be exact. Using a port forward checker it shows them closed. I know they are not because my IP phone works. I wouldn't rely on that tool.
I know there is a setting on the Uverse gateways that will block inbound pings. On mine it is this page: http://192.168.1.254/xslt?PAGE=login_post. I have an 5268AC and my block ping is ticked and also "stealth mode".

ApexRon,
I also saw the comment about the ports you mentioned. My tablo came up with the ones I used. However, I also tried the ones you listed, but did not include them.
However, I wonder if I did the mapping backwards? Since I only have a (very) vague understanding of what I am doing.... I think I mapped:
Port (From) 31881
Map to Host Port 8887
I will try it the other way .....

I edited my settings to map as below, and used the configuration tool on my tablo app to use 31881 and 31882 instead of 21131 and 21130. I mapped the opposite way I originally did and it still did not work.
To be clear, I am putting these maps to the tablo itself. Do I need to map anything on the gateway? Also, do I need to tell an application or application type? (I am setting this up as a new, user defined app).
Port (From) 8887
Map to Host Port 31881
Port (From) 80
Map to Host Port 31882
Thanks for the assistance!

The gateway is where you need to be adding maping in the firewall section.
As far as mapping in the Tablo, I cannot speak to that.
