These so-called forums…

These "forums" are a total farce. There is absolutely nothing to be accomplished in, by or as a result of them. AT&T will give us only what they feel they must. Never a molecule more. The moment that FiOS is available in Dallas, that's where I'll be. We desperately need that competition here.

As my previous post was removed due to stating the obvious, I guess the only thing I can say is that your post shows a lack of effort to take the time to do a search for your problem or noticed the hundreds upon hundreds of accepted solutions, or even bothered to actually ask a question.

 

Apparently you've accomplished something though, you've come on here and complained about the forum being ineffective, without actually giving it a chance to address whatever your issues are.

 

 

 

 

P.S.

Verizon has a forum too. Hopefully you'll find them more useful. Personally, I don't think the problem is with the forums.

I see you are uninformed on two fronts.

 

First Fios has absolutely stopped any expansion more than a year ago when the CEO who was big on Fios was replaced.  The Verizon board stopped Fios dead in it's track.

 

Second, there is a very small area in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex that has Fios now, as it is Verizon territory inside of all that former SBC, now ATT monopoly. Smiley Wink

1st, as has been stated, these are user forums. 2nd FiOS and UVerse are not in the same areas. If you want FiOS you will have to move to one of the MANY areas in DFW that has FiOS because it will not be in your neighborhood. You have made a statement without doing ANY research.

My daughter lives in Sachse and they have Verizon FiOS.  Before that they had TWC and hated it!  Personally, I don't see any difference in their HD and mine.  *shrugs*

You can't please all the people all the time

but the fact that a company the size of AT&T can't task one person with responding to the many angry and hateful posts -- at least trying to make it LOOK like they care ... sadly, confirms your point.

Agreed. The forums are great and the community members that take time to answer so many questions are wonderful. It's AT&T that sucks, big time. IMHO

I whole heartedly agree with you about the forums and all the good folks that invest so much time helping everyone with their problems. They are a great asset.

 

I can't say that I agree with your opinion about AT&T. Do you have a specific problem with AT&T? These fine people will do their best to help you if you do.You have to keep in mind that companies have a legal obligation to do what is best for all their stockholders. Do you have stock in any company or maybe have a retirement plan that has invested your retirement funds in some company? All these investors are expecting a company to produce a fair return on their money. Of course, a company needs to treat their customer as well as they can because without customers, there would be no company, but that leaves them with a very narrow path to traverse. They have to balance stockholders on one hand and customers on the other. Sometimes unfortunate things happen and people have problems and it can be frustrating if you are the one caught in that situation, but I don't think they single you out to give a hard time. That is just MHO.

Be careful what you wish for. You might be wishing for your copper wire and your POTS back, that fiber optic system is not so wonderful as everyone tells you. Fiber optic is incredibly easy to hack, too easy. I live in Silicon Valley, I don't have too many computer problems, but this UVerse system has been a nightmare from day one (beginning with the minute I walked into my office and discovered that the installers had destroyed a $300 floor lamp--nice, huh?). Yeah, well, just about everyone I know is pretty hopping angry with UVerse, they're all switching back to Comcast or even going back to analog and DSL. I'm tired of being constantly spammed and hacked. I think I've had to change a total of 8 credit card numbers, all hacked, since I've switched to UVerse, and the annoying phone calls never quit. Why do I pay them for an unlisted phone number if I have to put up with this? Never happened with POTS. We each make our own choices in life, I can't tell anyone what to do.

I don't remember getting hacked on fiber. I would install a software firewall(not windows firewall)and a anti-virus on your computer additionally to your hardware firewall built in your router.
