@jackstacy - You cannot watch your recordings on your iphone via the u-verse app. You can only watch what the app offers. You can manage your recordings. Not watch.
To watch your recordings get a slingbox or other such device. Connect the slingbox to an output of your STB and your internet access. Set up the IR blaster to control the STB.
You will then be able watch from any browser connected to the web as if you were in the room. I believe the app for the iphone is also available.

Set Top Box (aka receiver) usually used for non-DVR, but DVR is a specialized STB.
