Costs of services

Hello,

When I started with these services it was $160 for U450 uverse, internet, and phone. Now it is close to $200. I got it down from $245 when I called to complain. Now this morning an ad on the internet says a person with a new contract can get Uverse, internet, and phone for $89 a month for one year. Talk about bait and switch. I am frustrated that you don't seem to value your long time customers. I also read on the Fees page that some services are going up $3 and others $1 each. It is really disturbing for someone on a fixed income that your costs are increasing and your services aren't. I should be disciplined enough to tell you that I don't require your services anymore but truthfully I really like u-verse and internet. Please consider valuing your long established customers and stop jacking up costs.

Just like credit card companies will make special offers to new customers, so do internet & TV providers. Remember that those 'special offers' have an expiration date just like you got when you first got U-verse.

Call CS and ask for retentions. Explain your concern.

Then cut back to u200 and save even more money unless you like those movies since about 1995 that I consider are inferior remakes and blah, blah, 1, 2, 3, etc. 😉

sign up with uverse and bundle,,,,get fixed pricing for 24 months...
123.00 plus fees. on top of the fees charged above bellsouth sent a bill
for 400.00 for 2 mos of being with uverse.

I am now totally diabled on a fixed income, If I downgrade by 2/23 It only saves 15.00.
If I leave there should be no fees, but you will bill me anyway.
I have been fighting with att for over a year it is exhusting because there is never
resolution or promises kept. my new bill is going to be close to 200 a month and of course
no new promotions. So I know I dont need cable, but we put all our eggs in 1 basket. I need
my phone and internet and now I am disabled and cant go out all I have is tv. So my decision
is eat or keep my services that have nearly bankrupt me on several occasions. I get a free
cell phone be cause of my disability. xfinity is offering the same tv/internet  services with a
fixed rate of 89.00 a month for 24 months. What can you do for me? Do you care? Do you see my bills
and what this has cost me already? If I leave you can bill what ever you wish but I bet a returned
bill is all you will get back. 157.00 was hurting my budget but I dealt. I can't pay any more.

I must say even the cc companies are not this bad...

Your vast differences each month may be because of the amount of data you use. Do you know know to see this amount, and which things you use that takes a lot of data?  I was surprised with my extra charge until I learned it was from using smartphone maps that go over the limit. I also recognize my telephone charge will double in one year.

You should have a list of what you can do that uses data, and see what you can reduce using to avoid an increase. Maybe it is, for example, some apps you installed.

I know this entire procedure is ridiculously complicated, but so far you usually have to pay a lot more if you ignore the details.

Call and cancel tv services. They should offer you a deal to stay. If they don't, go ahead and cancel TV. Get a cheap OTA indoor antenna for local channels. After about a month you will get offers to add TV services back at a discount.

I think it has reached it's maximum pain level for me. TV is just not worth what ATT wants to charge. I am starting to look for alternatives. If enough people vote with their feet, maybe it will change.

The current model is a dinosaur. People want to pick the channels they watch and not want to pay for what they don't. If this industry does not wake up to that fact it will collapse under it's own weight.

The next generation of adults will not pay for this stuff. I think if eventually collapses anyway.

Just my opinion, but I know what I see.

Moer competition is headed our way starting in 2015 with Google Fiber. Atlanta is one of the markets installing the fiber as we speak.
