$200 Rewards Card Redemption EXPIRED?!! HORRIBLE Customer Service!

I had a HORRIBLE experience with AT&T today. Let me first say that I am a VERY loyal AT&T customer. I have been an AT&T wireless costumer for about 5 years and I am a U-Verse customer that is about to move her services to a new address. When I first signed up for AT&T Uverse back in February of this year I was told I was going to receive a $200 rebate/rewards card. Which I assumed was just going to be mailed to me. Nothing came. It wasnt until a couple of months ago when I received a reward notification for a $10 Visa Card, that I realized I had to redeem my card online. I NEVER received notification to redeem. In fact, I was never acknowledge as a bundled customer and had to call in to have my discounts manual entered EVERY MONTH until May 2013. This may be why I never received the Reward notification in the mail. I called AT&T today to try to fix this problem, and I was spoken to very rudely and was told it was too late to redeem my card. I was NEVER told how the rebate system works, I NEVER received award notification because I wasnt acknowledge in the billing system as a bundle customer until more than 3 months later, so how was this my fault? I even told the customer service rep that if I was going to be treated this rudely that I wouldnt move my services and would cancel all together, but she continued to rush me off the phone. I have NEVER been treated this way by an AT&T employee and it was VERY frustrating. I have always been an advocate for AT&T's great customer service and relationship skills, and this was VERY disappointing.

Same thing happened to me.  I was supposed to get 250$.  After 10 phone calls, being transferred, hung up on, transferred to somewhere that could not help me etc. I finally got $100 out of them.  Said the promotion I was given never existed. Typical ATT runaround and bait and switch.

I want to say that this issue is now solved!! Within just a couple of days, I was reached out to by Social Media Manager, Ryan. He put a $200 credit/adjustment on my account to make up for the $200 Rewards card I never received. I am VERY happy with AT&T for taking care of this issue so quickly. Thank you very much again AT&T!! This is why I have always loved you!! Smiley Very Happy

I can completely disagree with this, as I haven't used any of my Visa Reward Card, as I wanted to use for holiday expenditures, I called, and said a balance of $150 was still on card, they re-issued me a card ($7 processing chage - whatever!) and so I'll have a new card in 2-3 weeks, at $143 balance. I'll take it!

Thank you AT&T. Much better in my opinion than other carriers I've dealt with when it comes to customer satisfaction and loyalty.

I have an expired rewards card too, and I emailed where they said to email and I haven't gotten a response. If someone could please respond to me I'd REALLY appreciate it. I was SOOO sad and upset to realize that it expired at the end of Dec when I found it Jan 4Smiley Sad

So apparently this is a common issue. I glad im not alone. Now hopefully I can get my expired rewards as well. Ok so here's the situation; I had att uverse and internet (I also have been with att for many years now with our cellphones) when my fiance and I decided to move to a different city we called customer service to have our service transferred but I guess uverse was not available at our new address so sadly we had to cancel. A couple months later we happened to be at an AT&T store about out phones and they happened to mention that service is available. So we restarted a new service. But in the mix of mobing and mail being forwarded/not forwarded I find a forwarded mail from my previous account for a rewards card but it was EXPIRED! Now I cant claim it what im being told! Why? I know that its expired but why cant it be claimed if it never was claimed and I still am a memeber. I love AT&T but it seems like when its time to get what people are promosed as an insentive theres all these steps and hassle loop holes that people have to go through. Please contact me on my email [edited for privacy]

We too changed over to ATT last year and were told we would get $200.00 in gift cards.  Until now we have not heard anything.  If ATT doesn't have to abide by their promises, do we have to abide by our contract?  Judging from all the postings about the rewards offer, ATT doesn't seem to value customer satisfaction.  That is a growing concern for businesses today.

As of today we still have not had a response to our complaint.  I want to know if ATT doesn't honor their promises do we have to honor our contract.  Fair is fair!  Is it too much to ask for the courtesy of a response? So much for customer satisfaction.

Hello @infoguild

The best way to address any rewards issues is by contating AT&T Reward center directly. Here is the page with the contact info and a Chat option for the Rewards Center, as well as their business hours.

Hello Jimmy H

In this case it doesn't sound like those are calls from AT&T. There are some known phishing scams out there where customers are getting calls pretending to be from their phone or cable company (affecting most carriers' customers) and offering them money for logging in to some web site. Those calls are not from AT&T, please don't give them any of your information.

Thanks,

Dmitriy

I have had a similar experience with a $ 200.00 reward card. I traded in a iPhone 4 a few months ago and got the reward card. When I called to verify the amount , I was told that it expired in 2 years. My husband kept the card and when we were ready to go to AT&T to buy an iPad, we were told that the card expired. I called customer service who told me to call the reward card department, who told me to go back to the store! I went back to the store and was told there was nothing they could do! I wasted hours dealing with this. One thing is for sure, the phone I traded in was put to good use by AT&T and I am left without anything! I feel that I was cheated!

I received $200 in gift cards when we signed up for Uverse a few months back (Feb 2014), and noticed that they had already expired. I only received them in April 2014 and the expiration was June 2014... just 2 months later. Is there any way we could get a new card with an expiration date a bit further in the future? Two months isn't very much time....

Two months is a long time to spend $200. If your budget is less than that, I envy you!

While two months may seem like a long time to some, I was saving them to use on an anniversary gift my significant other. ATT has very politely informed me that it is impossible to reissue the cards or give me the credit in any other way.

I consider this extremely bad customer service and will keep this in mind the next time I am up for renewal. ATT clearly doesn't care about their customers, I guess that is why they rank down with TWC and Comcrap for customer service.

Why is ATT even sending out cards with less than two months of validity on them?!

This is my second time signing up with AT&T for internet service. The first time in 2008 I was promised $200 gift cards, then after checking daily for several months was told I didn't qualify. This time when they promised them again, I didn't believe them. So, I shouldn't be disappointed that when I go to the website for rewards to claim them it says it can't find my information. Service was installed May 29, 2014, the first bill was calculated incorrectly (not breaking up the installation fee over 3 months as promised) and no rewards. How familiar.

I too I have $200 in expired cards. I have sent a private message, but get told to contact rewards support. I contact rewards support and get told they can't do anything. The policy for issuing new cards for expired ones seems very subjective. Some people claim success while others get the brush off. Is it just a matter of continually trying until I get someone who will exchange them? I live in California and know that gift certs and cards can't expire by law, so I was saving them for vacation. I had no idea these had expiration dates on them or I certaintly would have used them earlier.

I have the complete uverse package also and I seem to be an unqualified customer also. I went to the rewards center and entered my account and zip code info and they don't even have me on record as a customer?! Well, even after a private email, I'm being told to contact the rewards center again! I feel like I've been scammed, and will most certainly remember this when it comes time for my renewal also.

I tried to email an AT&T community rep privately and my message won't even send. Maybe it was too long. Whatever the case, I have to prompt the question: Where is the company integrity, seriously? I wrote a lengthy message all for nothing.. it won't send. When I copied it, I couldn't paste it in the community email box.. whatever, it's like a sign.. maybe I should just walk away from this and cut my losses. I got 2 people that I had convinced to sign up with AT&T, and they haven't had issues with their services or products. Maybe I'm just the unlucky one. Never got my $200 Rewards Gift Card, network connectivity fades in and out and I'm without internet completely most times after the new installation (I just moved last week to a new place). I called AT&T and talked to the darn robot thingy and followed all the steps to troubleshoot. I'm paying for services I'm not even receiving. When I finally talked to a customer service rep they disconnect on me, not once but three separate times, and I'm not even the "curse you out" or "get loud" type.. Those kind of people irk me. But at the same time, I don't want to get bulied and taken advantage of by AT&T.. and I don't enjoy the lies. I've been told over and over that its 30 days to wait for a $200 Rewards Gift Card that probably don't even really exist. 30 days has passed. Been passed. What's going on? Again, I must prompt the question: WHERE IS THE COMPANY INTEGRITY, SERIOUSLY?

I tried posting this and it said "You used a bad word, _________, in the body of your post. Please clean up the body before posting." Good to know..this is probably the reason my email wasn't sent lol, dang.. Oh well.. I didn't know that four letter word was so bad since it is used so much in common language, especially on U-verse products/ services via all forms of media.

My reward card also expired three weeks ago and I called the ATT reward center and I was told the card cannot be reissued even though it was never used or activated. I am moving in a week and was considering transferring my Uverse and internet service to my new address, but after reading about all the issues with unclaimed reward cards not being honored I am really starting to reconsider my options for my television and internet service. Really bad practice on the part of ATT. Hundreds of dollars not being claimed in time is great for ATT but not good business practice for retaining long term customers.  It really makes you question the integrity of the company.
