I was told new services would be a soft inquiry. Upon reviewing my credit file, I saw that there was both a soft pull and a hard pull of my credit report on the same day. I'd like to get this unauthorized hard inquiry removed.
Can the monitoring party of this forum please contact me to have this done ASAP?

Is it POSSIBLE to have an inquiry removed once it has been done?
You have to dispute it with the credit bureau that it showed up on the report with, they will look into it, and send you a confirmation usually within 30 days max, if they were able to remove it or not. I have seen it as quick as 2 weeks when I disputed something on mine, and was sent a confirmation from the bureau stating it was wiped off.

did you have any success with this issue?
I just received a copy of my Equifax credit report and I see two hard inquiries dated 9/14 and 12/29. I signed up for new AT&T Wireless service which would probably explain the 9/14 inquiry. However, thereafter when I added a second line as well as AT&T U-verse service I wans't informed of the need for a second credit pull.
Both inquiries are listed as AT&T with the same address/contact information.

I have documented proof from an ATT representative I've been in dispute with stating "the credit pull is always a soft credit pull for service" I have forwarded the information to the fraud department as requested and filed a dispute with the bureau but am now waiting for them to "code" the fax I sent from 2 days ago before they will take any action.
It seemed like I was finally getting somewhere (this has been in dispute for 2 months now) and after being handed around several specialists saying they can't remove the enquiry and "sorry for the inconvenience" I'm stuck with a new excuse.
Considering I've sent documented proof, I was assured it would be removed. This is a violation of the FCRA and needs to be handled.
note: to the above posters statement about seeking perfect credit...There are lots of people making long term credit goals that require taking care of their credit to establish sensible things like mortgages and investments.
I personally don't accept bad business practices and will make sure I'm not a victim of poor company training.

I applied for new services on 6/06/2014. I have encountered several issues with getting my order completed. I have had to call the customer service line several time last week. They ask for my SS#, but assure me each time since my credit was pulled on 6/6/14 it will not be pulled again, They only need my SS# so they can pull the order. Upon reviewing my credit file, I saw that they hard pull of my credit report on the same on 5 different days last week between 06/06-06/14/2014 . I'd like to get this unauthorized hard inquiry removed ASAP!!!
