phone not working after upgrading to uverse wireless

I had regular phone service and DSL wireless internet.  I upgraded to u-verse internet but the phone in my area is not eligible for u-verse yet, but the agent said no problem.  I received my router and set it up as usual (after 8pm on activation day).  I can get on the internet wired and wirelessly but my speeds aren't even hitting 1 mbps (0.25 mbps).  Also my phone does not work.  No dial tone???

It could be as simple as installing filters properly.  But if you don't have any dial tone at all on your phones, it may have been that your wiring was broken when they converted you to U-verse.

I would suggest that you click this AT&T logoU-verse Customer Service link to send a Private Message (PM) to the AT&T customer service team to help you resolve your issues. You can expect a reply via return PM (the blue envelope envelopein the upper right hand corner of this site) in a business day or three.

This is a group of U-verse service specialists who are knowledgeable about U-verse and will stay with your problem until the end (instead of forgetting about it when the phone hits the cradle). Speed things up by including your Billing Account Number, and the best time and way to reach you.

I'm having the same issue in that my home phone stopped working the minute I upgraded to uverse high speed internet.  I have made many calls to AT&T.  They keep telling me a tech will be out.  No one shows.  When he finally did show, he said he didn't have access to repair the problem and left.  The box is on the OUTSIDE of the house!  How can you not have access.  I was told by AT&T that I did not need to be home for them to take care of the problem.  I called AT&T again and a manager was supposed to call me back.  Instead, I received a recorded message saying someone would be out tomorrow.  Do I need to be there???  I don't know now.  I have been a loyal AT&T customer for many years.  We have 3 cell phones with AT&T, home phone, Internet and this is the treatment I get?  I have never in my life had such a problem with customer service and never expected it from AT&T.

I signed up to be able to read the link above, but apparently I don't have permission?  ugh...just wanted to read the link to hopefully give me some insight.

Hi Dmitriy,

Thank you for your response. Fortunately a fantastic AT&T tech showed up this afternoon and was able to correct the problem. He left his business card and told me to call him if we experienced further issues. Apparently the tech who came to hook Uverse up at our box outside did not do so correctly and disabled our phone.
