Mind-blowing how many laws they can come up with to prevent innovation. Smiley Sad

It's not really the law ... copyright law has been largely the same, untouched law on the books since the last update in 1976.

The primary problem is how corporations are all about preaching that the government and courts should not lay a finger on them in terms of regulation -- that regulation always stifles innovation. Until a competitor comes along with a new technology, then those same corporations come running to the government and the courts wanting regulations, rulings, and laws that give them their competitive advantage back.

Sorry, I hope Aereo wins all the way through the courts and gives a huge middle finger to the broadcasters. They SO deserve it.

It's all about how much $$$$ gets dumped in politicians' laps. Smiley Mad  This is why we're so far behind other countries.

Yup.  The so called "little government" movement.  They want government off their backs to do whatever they want (even if health, safety or competitiveness is compromised).  They only want big government when it comes to stopping something better or crushing an opponent.
