Unable to forward ports on 3800HGV-B

So, I'm completely stumped about this.  No matter what I do re: forwarding/opening ports, I cannot for the life of me get it to work on this 3800HGV-B U-Verse gateway.  Specifically, I'm trying to open TCP and UDP ports 4950 and 4951 for Warframe, though I have issues with any ports.

I tried the port checker at http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/ and I got the following dings in my firewall log:

INF     2014-01-21T18:38:01-05:00     fw,fwmon     src=198.199.98.246 dst=192.168.1.65 ipprot=6 sport=58067 dport=4951 Session Matches User Pinhole, Packet Passed
INF     2014-01-21T18:38:02-05:00     fw,fwmon     src=198.199.98.246 dst=192.168.1.65 ipprot=6 sport=58069 dport=4951 Session Matches User Pinhole, Packet Passed

Yet the the site reports it as closed, and Warframe whines that I'm behind a strict NAT and I need to open the ports (and enable UPnP, which I know you can't do on it anyway).

I'm completely baffled and I can't find any other help anywhere else about this gateway.  And the odd thing is, this was working up until about... maybe 6-8 months ago, give or take, then suddenly stopped after a reboot or a possible automatic firmware update.

And I forgot to mention, this still fails when my Windows Firewall is disabled or enabled.  I put my computer in the DMZ and I could finally get Warframe to give me the "all clear" on the ports, but that caused other issues so I put it back behind the router firewall.  So I know for certain it's something on the gateway causing this issue.

Check this link and see if it helps: http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/2wire/3800HGV-B/  Once the page is open select the game and click it for instructions.

I appreciate the link, but I already ran through all that:

Unless you had some application running on your PC to respond to the port scanner (and perhaps the game would do for that), the port scanner cannot tell if the ports are open and/or forwarded properly on your RG.

Also, I see a bunch of conflicting information about what ports are necessary for WarFrame.  They include 80, 443 in addition to 3960-3962.  If you have chosen to change your ports to some other set of ports using a configuration setting, it may be necessary for other users you wish to play with to make the same change.

The game itself is complaining that its ports aren't open, too, when it specifically runs its own built in check for them.  I would assume it opens the ports to try to listen in when it does so.

Re: Unable to forward ports on 3800HGV-B

The Warframe forum link looks to be for helping multiple people on one LAN play, but it did give me some ideas.  I gave my PC a fixed IP address and I broke up my port forwarding rules so there's just one per entry (i.e. 3960 and 3962 are separate entries, instead of 3960-3962).  That didn't help.

Re: Unable to forward ports on 3800HGV-B

So I realized with another site's help that it's been an awful long time since I did a cleanup of the router, so I did a factory reset.  That did the trick; things are working just fine even without setting the port forwards back up.
