U-Verse TV Web Remote Access

Starting around this past Sunday I had problems even getting to access the guide.  Maybe on Monday, logging out and logging back in takes two tries but I can now get to my guide.  Tried logging off and rebooting, no help.

I can view Scheduled programs but I can't schedule a program because it states that it can't access the settings.  I can't view recorded programs either.

The funny part is that the Android app works perfectly and no problem from the TV itself.

I contacted ATT thru the private message link JulieCS gave us. I'm sorry, but thru another message from the Community Moderator quoting guidelines, I cannot copy/paste the message sent to me and must paraphrase, so here goes.

Because of the changes in multiple browsers, the 'web remote assistance program'  is running into issues. The issues that I reported to them (please see my prior posts/comments) are some of those issues.  ATT is hoping to have those issues resolved by the end of the year.

I contacted ATT again to make sure that they meant year and not month.  ATT U-verseCare said that he/she was told the end of the year, but because of testing the system for problems after the fix,  there is no real set date.

Again, it might possibly be the end of the year before the problem is fixed with the web remote assistance programs.

That doesn't surprise me at all!  Look how long it took them to correct the blue LED that stayed ON all the time which was as bright as a night night in a darkened room?

If someone had a contract for software with a company and took that long to fix a problem, they might not have a contract much longer!

I've been logging in to WRA numerous times a day for the past two days and have had no problems at all doing what I normally do.  Maybe they have fixed "some" of the issues at least??

I got back a portion of the WRA 2 days ago.  I can enter the channel number or name of the channel and get the info.  I still can't enter movie names/tv shows/ names of actors without getting 'search failed'.

After getting the message re issues with web remote assistance program and the possibility of a  year wait, Att contacted me and will be calling me on 9/10 to work with me on this problem.

I am having this same problem. I go on the TV acess remote, to My DVR, I can see all the programs I have Scheduled and Recorded but when I go into Guide and try to search for a program, I get Search Failed, Please Try Again. This just started to happen about a month ago. I looked on this forum and then an ATT specialist called me. He was very nice we went over everything but nothing fixed it. He said it was my browser. I don't think so. Same browser as before when it was working. Very disappointing. The search in the Guide was a very helpful feature. Any Ideas out there?????

Please see Message #60, above yours (you're Message #64).  'Search failed' is part of the problem with the Web Remote Access.  There are also problems with Uverse.com MyDVR (Uverseonline.att.net).

A little update on this thread.

I mentioned above somewhere that channel numbers changed by themselves.  Well, yesterday, I noticed 1651 FS2 which was a mirror of 651 FS2 most but not all the time became 1651 FS2 HD.

OK, adding confusion... I've had this problem for months. Search, guide and favorites work on my Droid2 Uverse App (most of the time, when my download speed doesn't sink below Modem 7 speeds, which it does frequently, but that's another post). Using the Yahoo WRA (http://uversetv.att.yahoo.com/wra/uverse/) (This is the link on my account page that says I can access my DVR remotely). at home, the search fails as stated in Chrome, Firefox and Safari on MacBookPro in Snow Leopard At work, the same link WORKS in both IE and Chrome (WXP) I do not have any problems scheduling or deleting programs. I talked to GOK what tier techs for 90 minutes until I got someone who talked Mac - and he could not figure out how to fix it. So, is the problem Mac related? It certainly is not browser related. And even more baffling: the other WRA (http://uverseonline.att.net/uv/guide - with the horrible interface) - the search works on the Mac in all browsers, but is so obnoxious that it is difficult to use. SOOOOO What is the difference between the coding of these 2 WRA's? And why would it matter if I'm on a Mac or PC? Answer those questions and you will solve this problem.

Across all platforms, the search SUCKS!!!! Absolutely the worst search function tool ever created. And agreed on the new interface. (This one: http://uverseonline.att.net/uv/guide). Not only is it inferior to the old version here: http://uversetv.att.yahoo.com/wra/uverse/, when it DOES work, the search results are incomplete. At the risk of a footy pile-on here... why do I get no game times when I type in Manchester United (or City) or Arsenal?! And why is this new tool telling me I can't record more than one HD program at a time, yet I can do it as always on my STB? To make matters worse, normally a (somewhat) reliable backup, I cannot connect with the app on my Android phone now. Among other minor factors, this perpetually broken search functionality is what made me try to switch back to DirecTV last week. (Unfortunately, while the first year deal was extremely appealing, my bill would have gone up by $100 after that.) To AT&T's credit, they did offer me a nice deal for the next year. But I would have just settled for a reliable search function, honestly. In the name of all that is holy, PLEASE FIX THE SEARCH FUNCTION!!!!! Okay, I feel better.
