I have always had my email address essentially with att (sbcglobal then uverse). My problem is I got my email address when I was a teen still living at home. When I opened my own uverse account last year I was told I couldn't use my address as the main account address as it was a sub-account on my parents plan. This was an inconvenience but not a huge hastle as they still had their own uverse account.
My Dad has been unemployed for almost three years (one of the many USA/Nasa laid off workers) and he and my mom have now moved in with me and closed all their accounts. Now I am having issues accessing and sending emails.
Is there any way at all to tranfer the email accounts to my uverse account? I don't want to change email addresses (everyone knows it!). I personally don't uderstand why it would be so hard to move an account from one person to another so long as its continued to be paid for but who knows...
Thank you in advance for your help!

I know you can keep your AT&T email address even if you cancel service. How to get it switched to a different account I have no idea so:
I would recommend that you send a Private Message to the ATTU-verseCare Community Specialist team. One of the specialists will respond to your PM shortly. Please look for the flashing envelope at the top right of the page for your response from a team member.
They should be able to get you fixed up.

You can keep them but not without limitations. One being that you can no longer use it on your phone (a way I do alot of email these days). I have fowarded my message as suggested and hope to receive a reply.

We received your private message and will be glad to investigate your account and determine if there is an option to migrate your previous account. When an account originates as a Subaccount we are not able to register the same account as a Parent but it may be possible to migrate the Parent account this Subaccount belongs to and bring over the Subaccounts associated with it. We replied to your message to gather more information.
