Sudden Speed Loss and then back to normal

Started about a week ago, girlfriend complained internet was slow. I came home later and all seem fined.

 

Well it happened to me while I was at computer tonight, speed just drops out, takes forever to load a page, did a speedtest(sorry no screenies) and it was 2.1MB down and 784 k up.

 

Checked gateway logs and found a lot of these during the sluggish period:

It last for a few minutes and normal. Download speed in the past is closer to 23mb down.

 

I have 24up/3dwn service

Is this computer you tested on wired or wireless?  If wireless try connecting hardwired to the RG and test.  You might also want to load inSSIDer if on a wireless conneciton and run that to select the best wireless channel for your residence.

A krtlock is a "kernel thread lock," which means there is contention for resources in the router's OS.  You may try a simple reboot and see if that helps.  Others have found that a reset to factory settings helped.
