New Firmware Push to U-verse Receivers

Apparently, a new firmware version is being pushed out to all U-verse TV users.  According to the discussion on dslreports.com, one of the issues addressed is the infamous "blue light" issue.

No update here in Detroit market. Just the latest update that slowed everything like title search and on demand down to a crawl. Darn it all.

And did your title search, on demand, etc. slow everything down bigtime?

Re: New Firmware Push to U-verse Receivers

On my old 1216 it was not slow after changing to list view on VOD.  Search is wonky, brings up hidden channel programs, what looks like TV shows are actually VOD.

Can search NCIS and only shows repeats on 2/1002 (and VOD) show up and nothing about USA's NCIS reruns.  Suppossedly Customer Care has been notified of these problems.

On my current 2250, it's down right snappy, probably cause much more memory available. Smiley Wink

Haven't had those problems thankfully. Will get the 2250 when I catch up on all the recordings. Thanks man.

Got the update on the 2250 10 days ago, nothing on the VIP-1200 STB's so far.

I'd love to see the algorithm here for determining who gets what and when.

Seems like the Motorola boxes are being updated before the Cisco ones

As of last night, I was as well. I haven't checked in about 12 hours. FWIW, I have two Motorola boxes.

blujacket - I got nothing. It might be my imagination, or maybe it's different on each box, but I think I *might* have noticed a slight speed increase...but I still get the "search is temporarily unavailable" quite often. Smiley Sad

Edit -- I was a bit confused, but I still am on the 2.1 or whatever it is. Maybe it just "seems faster" since I'm a bit more used to the slower speed. But there *is* a 2.2 that hopefully I'll get soon. Smiley Happy

I've had it on my DVR for a while (first noticed it when I found out my HD light wasn't on), still waiting for my STB to get it (WiFi), just tried to reboot it to no avail

Re: New Firmware Push to U-verse Receivers

I received the update on the VIP 2250 many days ago.  But here it is, almost end of June, and our two VIP 1200's are still refusing to accept an update.  I've tried all the reboots....all the way up to the full disaster recovery...more than once.....but all to no avail.

I finally called CS this afternoon.  The lady was nice but not helpful.  She tried to order replacement STB's for us but only more VIP 1200's were available for that replacement.  So what good would that do....unless the update was already loaded on them and there would be no guarantee of that.

She either would not....or could not....even give me the proper version number for the VIP 1200 update.   So I said thanks and we terminated the call.
