NBA League Pass Billing

This year I did not want to subscribe to nba league pass this year called att in aug or sept, to make sure I would not get billed this year,customer rep says no problem nba league pass will not renew on your account this year. Now I received my bill a couple of days ago and low and behold I am charged $189 for NBA league pass.Anybody else have this problem and  why could not the rep cancel my auto renew after I gave them plenty of notice?
