Well...you did not say....but I'll ask.  Did you subscribe to U-verse TV service AND Internet.... or only Internet?  In fact....although I'm certainly no expert.....it would appear that if they installed the 2700 you subscribed only to DSL.  Maybe there was a mix up or miscommunication somewhere along the line???  I'm just guessing you understand.

ATT has DSL lines, what you appear to have based on RG, your post should be under Internet on this forum and not Uverse which is either ADSL2+ (510 RG) or VDSL 3600, 3800, 3801, i38hg, 5031, 589 as valid RGs.

Hello reaper666,

We have received your private message and I apologize about the misunderstanding between DSL and U-verse equipment. The gateway you described appears to be DSL equipment. DSL and U-verse are both provided by AT&T but are delivered on very different network types and each network type requires specific equipment. I have sent you a private message to assist you further and help you find the answers you are looking for.

If you encounter any issues with your service or equipment, I recommend checking out our Troubleshoot & Resolve solutions to help diagnose the issue.

Even though the 2700 is a DSL gateway, I believe it runs very similar firmware to the other 2Wire units.

Opening ports for XBox Live should be similar to doing it for other 2Wire gateways.  Try the following post:

https://forums.att.com/t5/Residential-Gateway/XBox-Live-problem-2wire-NAT-is-not-open/m-p/3449081#M9...

The step-by-step instructions may have to be slightly modified, but in general, you're attempting to open inbound ports 3074 TCP and UDP, and port 88 UDP.

If you have more than one XBox, then the manual port opening procedure will not work for both. This is a limitation of NAT, not the 2Wire routers.

To run multiple XBox's and have the NAT type be open on both, you will have to use a router that supports Universal Plug and Play (UPnP), which the 2700 routers do not support. Thus, you will need a 3rd-party router that supports it, and you will need to set it up behind the 2700 router using the DMZPlus feature.

The 3800 is still being installed, in my opinion, the preferred unit under 1000 feet on FTTN,
the 3801 or 3800 between 1000 to 2000 feet,
The3801 if between 2000 to 3000 feet,
The 589 as bonded install over 3000 feet or less than 2200 feet and ordering POWER internet (45M).

On FTTP any of the 3 can be used as not distance related, most will receive 3800 or 3801.

Non of the Uverse RGs support upnp, need to buy your own and place behind, posts on setting up dmz or ip pass through passed on RG being used.

hello at&t

a quick update

so on the 23rd of this month i upgrade my internet speed from 12 mbps to 45 mbps.

even got a modem upgrade to the moto nvg589.

so i have not tried plugging 2 xbox consoles.

but hopefully with a router from asus [ASUS RT-N66U]

my problem with the NAT will be resolved.

If you configure your ASUS router behind the RG (configured for IP Passthrough as described multiple times on these forums), and allow it to do UPnP for you, then you should be set.
