Is there a way to just add one channel to my current lineup?

Is there a way to add only one channel from a different package to my current lineup?

I am on the U-family package. For several weeks last month, whether by mistake or free preview, I don't know which, AT&T added HRTV to my lineup. I found I liked it very much and would like to keep receiving it. Unfortunately, it is a part of the U450 package which is currently out of my price range.

HRTV is the only channel from that package I would like to add. Is there a way to do this? If so, how much would it cost?

Thank you.

eareeser - How about $7.50 - $10? That appears to be the subscription charge to view via streaming from the web site.

There is no ala carte channels as your requesting.
Aviewer recommend video stream subscription is an option.

It is actually a  part of the Sports Package that is why it's on the U-450 package.  The Sports Package is available as an add on to U-200 and higher, for $10 more.  So, the upgrade from U-Family to U-200 is ~ $15 a month and the Sports Pack is another $10.  So, that is $25 BUT you do get many more channels.  CS will usually offer some sweet deals, to entice the upgrade.

There is a single downside, you lose one of the Baby channels, that is oddly only offered on U-Family and 450.

You may lose other channels if they are part of U-300. However, you will get a DVR included in that additional fee. The DVR can record up to four shows, but then you can't watch any other live TV channel on any TV.

Let me see if I have this straight.

I could get the Sports Package added without having to add the other packages if I first add the U-200? So I wouldn't have to pay $121.00 a month just an additional $25? That is something I can afford!

See, right now, I'm bundled with the U-family package and my Internet and phone service for $79.00 a month. I'd have to look at the bill. But I think the exact total with taxes and all is $108 something a month for two years. This is a fixed price.

If I do the upgrade, can I do it all from home on my own? Or does someone have to come out to make the switch? I ask because when I looked at Channel 9910 (Account Manager), it said to choose a package to upgrade to. I just want to make sure that the price I would be charged would only be the additional $25 rather than the $121.00.

And if I add the U-200, how do I then get the Sports Package added?

Thank you for the HRTV website link. I didn't know they had one. It's good to have this as an option!

My suggestion is to do an "end around."  Call 1-800-288-2020 and say "Cancel my service."  You should be connected with a Retentions specialist.  Explain that you had watched HRTV via a free preview but state that 1) you are in a  contract 2) HRTV is available on another local provider (give them an actual name of a provider), 3) you'd like to get the channel via an upgrade to U200 (or 300) plus the Sports Pack but you're not sure if you can afford it.  In almost every instance, they will cut you a good deal.  Your mileage may vary (YMMV) but remember that promotions will expire and each specialist is different.  Good luck and win big, lol.  If they do start processing your cancelation (never heard of that happening) or you are not getting a good vibe with a specialist, say that you have changed your mind and try again, later.
