Home Surviellance System will not work with Uverse pace 5031NV router

Hi everyone on the cumminity forums my name is George nice to meet you all, before switching my internet to U-Verse I had a DSL modem which was connected to a Belkin router and my home surviellance dvr was connected via Ethernet to the Belkin router and on my Dvr system Under the network settings there is a option I would put to DHCP and it would automatically assign my DVR an ip address, subnet mask, gateway, and dns server which then I opened the ports in the router and was able to access my home Surviellance DVR using my iphone or computer remotely with no problem. Eventually I changed my internet system to U-VERSE Pace 5031NV router and the technician told me I don't need the Belkin router anymore, therefore I connect my home surviellance DVR to the U-VERSE routher with the Ethernet cable and when i put my DVR into DHCP mode the same way I did before it WOULD NOT assign my DVR an ip address, subnet mask, gateway, and DNS. If anyone could help me I would appreciate it very much I have tried everything I talked with at&t for hours and no body can help me I spoke to maybe 5 technicians on the phone and no help, if anyone can Help it would be great if not I want to switch to another company my home security is very important.
