Hide unsubscribed channels

When clicking through the channels, we see all the blue screens of the channels we don't subscribe to.  The Website has instructions on how to hide channels from your lineup, but the instructions require selecting "Options",  "Television", then  "customize channels" from the menu.  Our menu does not have a "Television" option under "Options" or a "Customize Channels" option under any possible selection.

We want to change channels without seeing a bunch of junk.

Please don't suggest customizing the guide.  We did that and find it minimally useful.

Options --> Channel Options --> Hide Channels

You can totally customize it, even blocking channels you DO subscribe to but don't want to watch.  I've done this with religious and shopping channels.

Re: Hide unsubscribed channels

OP specifically said, "Please don't suggest customizing the guide. We did that and find it minimally useful." Going through 600+ channels one by one, checking to see if they are under the subscription or not, and going through the steps of disabling it is ridiculous. The default should be that these channels are not visible, with only one button or setting to enable or disable them.
