Fastest speed available 18mbps?

Fastest speed available 18mbps?

I recently signed up for at&t after finding out that comcast wouldnt run a tap to my house even though houses in my neighbohood have service.

Anyway, I was told the fastest service that I am eligible for is 18mbps.

I ran UV Realtime to get some stats, here is a screenshot.

Does that max eligible speed seem correct?

Re: Fastest speed available 18mbps?

The reason why fastest available internet speed is 18 is because your on a 25M profile.

Your stats (49M max, 1900 feet, SN above 15 all point to being upgraded to 32M profile, this is also the recommended uvrealtime profile.

Once you can get tier support to change profile then will be eligible to order MAX TURBO (24/3) for $10 more per month.
With no tv service, if not willing to spend the extra $10 each month just leave as is,good stats with 18M speeds.

Re: Fastest speed available 18mbps?

I am willing to spend. How would I go about getting tier support to change the profile?

Re: Fastest speed available 18mbps?

Call or chat in, may need to be escalated to tier 2, if tier 1 will not respond. Once tier support has verified both current and past history should upgrade not requiring tech visit.

Once profile is upgraded request speed change, should be able to do all in one session.
May take awhile for changes to take place ( 15 to 30 minutes).

Sometimes have to reboot RG manually, but I believe this is done automatically.

Let us know what happens, thanks.

Hello Jowmo,

My name is Morgan, I'm one of the U-verse Community Specialists. If you'd like I'll be glad to assist you with the profile upgrade. 'My Thoughts' is correct about your line stats being eligible for the upgrade to the 32/5 profile. I'm going to send you a Private Message that will land in your inbox and we will move forward from there. Thank you! Smiley Happy

Re: Fastest speed available 18mbps?

Any chance I can get on a faster plan with these stats? I thought it was worth a try to ask. 18 Mbps is the max advertised speed at my address. I am willing to pay more. Stats

Re: Fastest speed available 18mbps?

Not with your line in its current condition, no.  Your max user rate is 35,069, and it needs to be at least 40,000 to move up to the next communications profile (32/5) which is required to move up to the next Internet tier (24/3).

There may be something wrong with your line that could be corrected; perhaps there are newer cards available in your VRAD, but you may already be on the fastest card and the best your line can be.

Looks like UV Realtime works reasonably well with the 5268ac.  How about that?

Re: Fastest speed available 18mbps?

Thanks for the info Smiley Happy  I had to try.  I'm new to DSL (coming from Mediacom cable in another town). I just moved and my options were Comcast or AT&T UVerse. I've heard horror stories about Comcast, so here I am!
