Every time it rains we lose service.

Any suggestions as to what it could be?

Bad cable pair/pairs from the VRAD to your residence.  You can call repair, or send a Private Message to the ATTU-verseCare Community Specialist team.  One of the specialists will respond to your PM shortly.  Please look for the flashing envelope at the top right of the page for your response from a team member.

They can get an appointment set up for you after testing should one be needed.

Re: Every time it rains we lose service.

There is exposed (cut or break in insulation) somewhere in outside plant.
Possible issues,
1) NID cover not closed or seals tight, Nid needs replacing (prem tech)
2) drop wire from NID to servig terminal, drop needs replacing (prem tech)
3) serving terminal cover not ckosed or sealed tight , close (prem tech), replace (CIM)
4) wire problem between serving terminal and crossbox (CIM)

You could do a visual of NID and serving terminal if suspect cover probem.
If a squirrel has chewed on line or buried cable (rodent) will not see.
As outside, only thing can do is call or chat to create service ticket, hope problem is still there when tech arrves.
If moisture in line tech can run tests to determine approximate length to resolve beyond drop, tech creates a ticket for outside line tech (CIM or InR)

If line has dried out, no problem found will be listed....in northern states, moisture in line, drops below freezing, ice does not conduct, no issue till temps go above freezing, then problem, freezers again, no issue.

From POTS stand point, static on line, Uverse is OOS (out of service)

Re: Every time it rains we lose service.

Thanks. We have an appt for tomorrow. Very unfortunate this continues to happen and we go days without service. Most likely will change providers now. But thanks for your help.

Re: Every time it rains we lose service.

Hey. Thanks for your help. This has happened one too many times and we have again checked and done everything we can do. Was hoping maybe there was something we could have missed. Will be changing providers this time as we go days without service waiting on a technician.

Thanks again.

Did you PM UverseCare?  They will work one on one with you until it's corrected.  That way you don't have to go thru the 800 number everytime should the tech not be able to find any trouble on this visit.

This is one of the type issues they are here for.
