Does anyone monitor chats at the AT&T Uverse Installation Central?

 I keep waiting and waiting and waiting, but the "Please wait while I transfer you to an operator at AT&T Uverse Installation Central" message has been up for half an hour.

I'd suggest that you'd have better luck sending a PM.  Please click this AT&T logoU-verse Customer Service link to send a Private Message (PM) to the AT&T customer service team to help you resolve your request. You can expect a reply via return PM (the blue envelope envelopein the upper right hand corner of this site) in a business day or three.

This is a group of U-verse service specialists who are knowledgeable about U-verse and will stay with your problem until the end (instead of forgetting about it when the phone hits the cradle). Speed things up by including your Billing Account Number, and the best time and way to reach you.

I appreciate your suggestion and have followed that route. I was just trying to get (what I thought was) pretty simple information, but I kept geeting transferred over to the AT&T U-verse Installation Central chat with the promise that the wait would not be very long; I disconnected the last chat after a one hour wait.

That doesn't sound right to me.  Every time I've used the chat, it was literally respnded to in less than a minute.  From your description, it almost sounds like you have some sort of firewall or other thing blocking the chat connection.  Are you running any browser add-ons for blocking scripting or anything like that?  It is quite possible that you are inadvertently blocking the chat connections from your end without realizing it.

I can get to the Sales Chat folks very quickly, but it's when they try to transfer me to the "AT&T Uverse Installation Central" chat when the trouble begins. I asked if there was a link to where I could open a chat with the appropriate department but was told that it didn't exist.
