I just upgraded my circuit to the 45Mbps, and the DVR unit was moved to a different TV. Now it seems that the DVR functions for the other STB's only work if the DVR unit is powered on. This may be normal, because I mainly watched TV before, using the DVR unit. Eveything was coax before, and is now either Cat5 or wireless.

MLaG03 - The DVR does have to be powered up, That is plugged in to live power. But, it does not have to be awake (turned on). Think of the recording and viewing as separate circuits that operate independently. As if the viewing side were a seperate STB. The viewing requires it be turned on. Tte recording does not.
Try a whole house reboot. Pull the power on RG, DVR & STBs.
Restore power on RG. Wait for all green.
Restore power on DVR. Wait for viewing.
Restore other STBs.

I will try whole house reboot, but as of now, the DVR box has to be on...not just connected to power, but on. I have even tested this, DVR off no other STB can record or pause, DVR on, everything works.

Whole house reboot did not change anything, DVR still has to be physically powered on in order for the other STB's to use DVR functions.

I would think the DVR needs to be replaced since this is not normal behavior.
I would recommend that you send a Private Message to the ATTU-verseCare Community Specialist team. One of the specialists will respond to your PM shortly. Please look for the flashing envelope at the top right of the page for your response from a team member.
They can arrange a replacement to be sent to you.

Yes, the Uverse DVR must be powered ON. So that you'll be allowed to use the DVR features on the other Uverse receivers.

Your links do not go anywhere Bell, and everyone else is telling me that the DVR should work in standby mode, and not have to be powered on.

To support what others have said about the DVR not needing to be turned on.....
In our home we have the DVR and two other regular STB's....one in the living room and one in the kitchen. The DVR unit is back in my computer room. It is ALWAYS plugged in....directly into the wall outlet....not into a strip. 95% of the time the DVR is turned off. But both our other STB's have full access to the DVR function....recording...scheduling....FF and rewind....etc. etc. etc. No problems. Two TV's are connected via HDMI....but the STB in the living room is connected to the 55" Sony via component cable. So we see no issues with HDMI in regard to functioning of the DVR.
If performing the full reboot with the reinstallation of the operating system does not help....IMHO you need to contact CS and have a new DVR STB delivered to your home.
