We have a Cisco ISB7005 STB connected to a Sony 55HX800 TV that works great. To avoid having to use two Ethernet connections, one for the STB and one for the TV, I thought we could use the HEC feature provided by HDMI V1.4. Each device has Ethernet connectivity when connected directly to the Ethernet cable, but if we try to use the HEC feature on HDMI there is no Ethernet on the TV. We have a 1.4 HDMI cable. As far as I can tell the Sony 55HX800 supports HDMI 1.4 because it also has ARC, and we are using the HDMI port labelled 'ARC'. So that only leaves the Cisco ISB7005. Does anyone know if the Cisco STB is HDMI 1.4 compliant (and supports HEC), or if there is configuration that is required?
