Yes, you can purchase the PACE/2Wire 3600 or 5031 for $100 from AT&T. You cannot be on higher tier speeds, cannot be pair bonded, and are not subscribing to IPTV. It will carry a 1 year warranty. The 5031NVG offers Wireless N the 3600 offers Wireless G.
No, you cannot purchase VDSL modems for use on AT&T if you're going to subscribe to TV, higher tier speeds, or are pair bonded. These include the 2Wire/PACE 3800, 3801, i38+i3812, or Motorola 589. These model RGs that are being sold on ebay are non-returned equipment. You can not purchase from PACE nor Motorola, they have special firmware that allows them to connect to AT&T's U-Verse Network. You will have to lease the RG and IPTV equipment if you want TV.

I am currently running a rented 3801HGV for U-verse Internet and TV, I will renew service but ONLY keep AT&T U-verse Internet(Max Plus 18M service). How I can find the Internet serivce is VDSL or ADSL2+?
3600 is only a ADSL modem and 5031NV is a ADSL and VDSL modem?

I think distance is not a issue, my house is a new house, AT&T has fiber box mounting on my external wall, there, it transfers into RJ45 copper wire and goes into my study room where the modem locates. AT&T recommends me MOT NVG 589 modem to purchase, I know this is single/double/triple modem and can provide VDSL. Is that a good modem for me?
