watching tv on my laptop

does anyone know if there is a 3rd party TV tuner for wireless connection to my laptop-that would work with the 2-wire gateway?

No matter how you set it up you still have to use the output from a set-top-box.  That's because of the IPTV technology used with U-verse.  That output could be fed to a video input or TV card on your PC.....or you could use one of several other devices available on the market:

Just remember....no matter what....you have to use a U-verse set-top-box between the RG and the computer.  Won't work any other way.

You might also investigate a SlingBox.

Although it would not be part of the U-Verse system, you could purchase an ATSC Tuner card or dongle that would allow you to watch Over the Air broadcast DTV signals.   You would need to attach an antenna to it.  Some even do HD, such as this one.

This would be good on the road, at airports and such provided that your antenna is good enough.

The more that I think about it, many have a coax in, where you could, I suppose, connect a coax out from the UTV STB and even record the UV programs to your laptop.
