Repeated Picture freezing on all boxes

I have had completely random, repeated picture freezing for 5 months. I have called tech support many times. The connectors on the coaxial cable are new, and appear to have good connections. I am not using HDMI, but component cables. My cable pairing from my house to the road has been replaced. When the picture freezes, the internet drops, and all connections are lost until it reconnects usually within 1-5 minutes. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Your stats are kind of hard to read (too small) but from what I can see, they are awful.

I don't know too much about what they should look for, but a friend is having the same sort of problem...RG goes red then she loses everything of course. The techs told her the probelm was with the ground.

Don't know if it became bad or was bad from the start or what, she hasn't had too many problems till recently, but perhaps that's somewhere else to look.

You need to call TS and have them escalate this to someone who knows what and where to look.

Oh randy, that's worse! :smileyvery-happy:

At least with his image, if I leaned in close, I could make out the numbers! :smileyhappy:

Those stats are terrible.  I'm surprised you have any service at all.

Call tech support, get a premises tech to your house, show him your stats, have him check all the standard things: Balun, home run, grounding at the NID and pedestal.  Then have him call the Installation and Repair (I&R) group to come look for and remove a bridge tap.

I am having the same problem of picture freezing for a few seconds.  It does not happen often but will someone please look at my stats and tell me what these numbers mean and if there is a problem that a tech needs to come out to fix.  I do not know what to look for but i assume all numbers should be zero.  I appreciate any help you can give.

Please go to the following link in your RG and copy and past the statistics that are there.  These are the coax HPNA statistics which can tell us if you have a bad coax drop.

The HPNA statistics look good.  All drops are at 112 Mbps, which is correct.

Your line stats don't show anything that's obviously wrong, although there are the DSL Cumulatively Errored Seconds which should not be there.  You do seem to have a lot of corrected blocks -- sometimes people's stats show that with no problems, other times it's indicative of an issue, especially if you're having picture freezes.

Let's look at one more set of stats:

http://192.168.1.254/xslt?PAGE=J03&THISPAGE=J04&NEXTPAGE=J03

These might clue me in if there's a line problem.

Looks like you have a little bit of noise on your line, but nothing severe.  Your max rate is 48.1 Mbps, which is plenty to run the normal 2HD/2SD profile.

Unless your picture freezes are happening regularly on all channels, I wouldn't worry too much about your line.  Overall, it's not bad.  Sometimes a particular broadcaster or channel can be having issues that show up as picture freezes, but the problem is at the broadcaster, not in your U-Verse setup.

If your picture freezing continues, becomes worse, or begins to interfere with watching TV, call technical support and request that they dispatch a premises technician to your house. Show him these statistics. He should look for several things that may correct the problem:

- Replace the balun/splitter at the NID.
- Install or replace the home run from the NID to the RG.
- Check for proper grounding at the RG outlet, the NID, and the pedestal.
