Low signal strength on Uverse Internet

Got Uverse Internet installed recently. The AT&T router is on one far side of my house.

One of my laptops is in a bedroom at the opposite end of the house.

The signal strength registers LOW. Downloading takes a long time

Is there any way to increase the signal strength?

...without buying a new USB wireless card. I have a Dell Inspiron
