HOW-TO GUIDES, INSTRUCTIONS, AND BASIC TROUBLESHOOTING

I'm starting this thread in hopes the Mods will be able to keep it controlled for info only (sticky/no replies); this would be a great source for new people and the rest of us when we need to know how to do a DR/FU, how to access the WebRemote, and photos of where the IR is on the DVR/STB, etc

Remote Control Volume Instructions

Section 2--

http://helpme.att.net/pdf/uverse/remote_control_user_guide.pdf

Setting up your Volume, Channel and Power Options

To control the speaker volume of the motorola box itself:
1) Press and hold the AT&T button on the remote
2) Press the "OK" button and release it and the AT&T key at the same time.  All the universal lights will flash twice.
3) Type 955.  The AT&T key will flash twice
4) Press "Enter"

Now you can turn your motorola box all the way up. Once you get it set how you want, we need to set the remote back to control the TV volume instead of the motorola box.  To do that:
1) Press and hold the AT&T button on the remote
2) Press the "OK" button and release it and the AT&T key at the same time.  All the universal lights will flash twice.
3) Type 955.  The AT&T key will flash twice
4) Press "TV".  The TV light will flash twice

All of this is assuming that the TV button on your remote is already programmed to control your TV.
If it is not, you will need to find the code for your TV and program the TV button first.

Remote Control Is Not Responding

Possible problems:

The batteries are probably dead or a button is stuck.

1. Try changing the batteries in the remote. If that doesn't work, proceed onto step 2.

2. Check every button on the remote to see if it is stuck in the down position.
The record button is the most commonly stuck button although it can happen to any button.
If that doesn't work the proceed onto step 3.

3. Call AT&T support.

HPNA Link Is Dead/Coax STBs Are Not Responding

The HPNA usually goes down when the VDSL and HPNA signal bleeds together.

As a precaution the RG shuts down the HPNA signal. Here's how to get it back up:

1. Go to http://gateway.2wire.net/xslt?PAGE=C04&DEVNAME=hpna1

'Disable' the HomePNA by clicking on "Confirm".

'Enable' the HomePNA, again at http://gateway.2wire.net/xslt?PAGE=C04&DEVNAME=hpna1 , clicking on "Confirm" again.

Check to see if the HomePNA light is on infront of the RG.

If not proceed to step 2:

2.  At the back of the RG disconnect all of the cat5 cables from the Local Ethernet section.

Then unplug the RG from the wall and wait about 10 seconds.

Then plug the RG back in.

After the Broadband and Service light become solid green, check to see if the HomePNA light is back on.

If it is proceed to step 3.

If not then skip to step 4.

3.  Plug back in the cat5 cables into the back.

4.  Call AT&T support at 1-800-ATT-2020.

Note: After the HomePNA light comes back on you may have to reset each STB to get them working again.
Just hold down the power button for 5 seconds.

Change the Start Time for Recordings

To change the start time for a recording, you basically have to set a manual recording.

Here's how:
1. Press the Recorded TV Button.

2. Scroll to the right until you are on the Add Recording page.

3. Choose the third choice that says Create a Manual Recording With: Channel and Time

Set the info on that page.

The DVR will automatically detect the program and add the guide info as well.
