I released 2WireMRTG.exe yesterday, to allow MRTG to get statistics off the 2Wire 3800HGV router. That release was in this thread.
I realize that many people cannot set up MRTG because they don't have a server to run it on, or would not want to go through the hassle of that much configuration. I therefore am releasing this tool, 2WireRealtime.exe, which is a stand-alone application to view data rates and information from the U-Verse RG. This program will not graph trends over time nor store data, but it will give instantaneous snapshots of activity on the RG.
This program is very easy to use, just download and double-click. The program does the rest. There is no installer, no registry entries are made.
There is an extensive ReadMe file that explains all the particulars of the statistics that are displayed.
Note: This program REQUIRES RG firmware v6.1.9.24 (the newer version rolling out now). It will not work if your RG is currently running the older firmware (v5.29.105.94).
The program is downloadable from here.

I only read back a few pages, so dont flame me too bad here.
First, Joe, your calculations on the distance of loop length are pretty close. I will look more into the 2wire program, but I know that the Prem techs meters are using somewhat of a TDR, but not nearly advanced as the line guys have. The line one shows the graph and you can see the taps and splices and stuff. The prem techs meter uses an estimate of 26 gauge wire. It could be 26, 24, 22, or a combination of them between the house and the VRAD. The meter is usually about 300 feet off. Dont let the loop lenght fool you though, the loop length is just an estimate as to how far the signal will go. It depends on how much signal is comming out of the VRAD. That can vary from 60meg to 75 meg. The accurate way is to know the capacity in ohms. To find that out, you much short the pairs and put a ohm meter on the other end. Poor service occurs after about 190 ohms. Some techs will not install over 185. 200 is the cut off though.
Second, Ronald. If you are FTTP, the realtime will not work. There is no bits loading graph for FTTP. The graph shows noise, and there is none with light. I tried to run it on mine(FTTP as well) and it failed also.

Hope you add a few 00s to your post totals with posts like that over time.

As was stated earlier, FTTP functionality has an error in this version. As soon as I fix the bug, the program will work on FTTP connections just as it did previously. Ronald posted his HTTP source code at my request so that I can fix this problem. I'm well aware that there is no bitloading for FTTP connections, but the IP addressing area and interface data rates still work and are still useful.
Look, I don't want to flame and I know you're new around here, but you might want to let me explain the features and functions of my own program, especially when you freely admit you haven't read the entire thread.

Looks like I dont know what I am talking about anyway, so I will just keep my 2 cents out of it from now on. Sorry to upset the master.

2WireRealtime v1.1.2.0 is released.
The program (.zip archive) may be downloaded here, or if you're already running v1.1.x.x, it will auto-update at startup if you have the "Enable Auto Update at Startup" checkbox checked in the Configuration tab.
Fixes and New Features
As always, please post here with any comments or bugs.

I have tried this a couple of times, but I keep getting the same error. I Confirmed I have the correct firmware. I just downloaded and tried to extract. That seems to work fine, but when I double click on the executable this is what I get. What am I missing?

The mod has to approve your picture before it will show for everyone else, so when it appears I'll take a look and see what's up.
If the program doesn't run at all, make sure of a couple things:
1. The program requires that you have installed the .Net Framework v2.0 and v3.5. If you haven't installed these, go to Windows Update, and look in the optional updates to find these.
2. Depending on the security settings on your computer, the .exe file might not run from a network drive. Copy the 2WireRealtime folder to the local C:\ drive and run it from there.

I downloaded the necessary optional updates and it seems to be working fine. Thanks for the help. One quick question, In looking at the Coax/HPNA tab, I see one of my 4 source station ID's PHY rate is pretty low. How do I identify which stb that is? See screen shot below.

You can check the MAC address on the bottom of your units as it's 2 going back to 1. Check that all connections are tight and what you can see of the cable that it's stll in good condition. If you see PQ problems from it call TS on the # in my sig and press 2 for TS, good luck.
