Uverse Lag or Latency Issue
I've had several techs out over the past few weeks to figure out what is going on. I can't play any online game anymore. Speedtest and pingtests checkout. Ports are forwarded properly. I get connected and shortly lag out and get kicked from the server. Anyone got any ideas?

I'm being told that this issue we have been having is at fault in another city or hop so we shall see how that goes. Atleast they finally figured it out where the problem is.

I'm having the same problem but with League of Legends.
I've done traceroutes and AT&T has heinous packet loss.

I just wanted to add that since about Dec 30th I've also been experiencing major latency spikes in all games that I play... mainly, Guild Wars 2.
Here is my pathping results to the GW2 servers if this helps:

Dorf, Can you explain what you think is wrong with these traceroutes (the copy and paste was not friendly to the formatting)? You do realize one of those destinations is in Europe, right?

@Jeff - I was hoping someone could explain the pathping results to me... 😞
The Arenanet team that provides support for Guild Wars 2, an MMO I play, told me to provide those pathping results to my ISP. They gave me the 2 IPs to run in my command prompt.
pathping -w 500 -q 25 -4 64.25.39.1
pathping -w 500 -q 25 -4 206.127.158.1
I was unaware that one of the destinations are in EU... that could probably explain the latency?? I'm also having issues with other things though; Netflix, Amazon Prime, World of Warcraft... my connection just isn't as popping as it was pre-Dec 30th. My speedtest.net results are even different. I went from 45mb down and 5mb up to 20mb down and 5mb up... /shrug Everything is just running crappy for me right now!

Could you try these commands instead?
tracert 64.25.39.1
tracert 206.127.158.1
And yes, to get to the 206.127.158.1 server, you were taken through Paris, France to Frankfort, Germany.

The AT&T connection problems are pretty widespread right now. People with low latency and/or high bandwidth requirements are seeing the most noticeable problems.
Here's a thread over at Twitch where users are saying they can no longer stream video over their Uverse connections.
http://help.twitch.tv/customer/portal/questions/1119838-streams-stuttering-despite-high-speedtest-have-called-isp-
The one workaround a user found was to use a VPN connection. I'm not entirely sure why that would be effective other than someone, either AT&T (although their techs say they haven't) or an outside party is somehow interfering with connections which seen't VPN enabled. I guess that would be bandwidth throttling but not too sure as I don't understand networking too well.
I guess people could try VPNing into game servers too, if that's even possible. But in addition to that, according to the Twitch poster, I think you also have to use the correct DNS servers.
Fwiw. I have a friend who is currently having problems with her Uverse and streaming videos is why I decided to join and post here.
