Can one pause while recording?

Is it possible to pause while recording?

There are a number of occasions when it would be nice to be able to pause a recording, as opposed to stopping and restarting which creates another event.  One example would be during a PBS telethon.

DR_1 - You cannot control the recording. It just records. If you begin watching in parallel with a recording. It is a separate activity. Whatever you do while watching does not affect the recording.

You will need to FF through the requests for donations while watching - same as FF through ads on commercial TV.

Sure.  Set up the recording and let it start and do it's thing.  Then go to the recorded list once it's started recording and select that show.  Select play and start watching it.  Pause, fast forward, rewind, etc whenever you want.  I do this all the time while watching NASCAR races.  You can even be watching the recording and use the "last" button and it will switch to last channel you were on and select the "last" button again and it will pick back up where you left the recording.  Magic!!
