Music comes from a service, like iTunes, google plan or Rapsody. The paid services do not need to be stored in the cloud as they are always available.
So I will assume the music is a free download. Free downloads cannot be backed up, moved or saved. They are only for your enjoyment on the current device.
It may depend on which "cloud" you are talking about because there are many. For example, Apple's music match is a cloud service. One of their features is that any song from your music library that is not available from iTunes is backed up to Apple's cloud.
