Weekly Off Topic Thread #310

Friday morning....November 1, 2013.  Here we are....only two months left in 2013 and I just got to the place where I was no longer accidently typing 2012.

We got rain.  Oh boy did we EVER get rain.  3 inches of it....spread over two days.  Last night it was clear and the air was fresh with the stars really bright.  I see that the Orion constellation is now rising in the east before bedtime.....after having spent the summer months invisible to us folks in this part of the world.

Where is everyone.  Has the whole gang migrated to the ACE lounge?  Hate to see that happen.  It seems like quite a number of old friends have dropped out or at least are not posting as often as they used to.

I'm not usually up and around this early but recently I've been having trouble sleeping.  I keep waking up around 4:30 AM for a senior citizen's dump and then I can't get back to sleep.  I end up just laying there, eyes closed.....with my brain running top speed on any number of subjects.  So finally I give up and crawl out of bed.  Of course by late morning I'll be sleepy again and probably have to take a 30 minute or so nap.

Everyone...don't forget....tomorrow night set your clocks and watches back one hour.  Daylight Savings Time goes off for the winter.  Time to FALL BACK.   I wonder who it was that dreamed up this silly idea of DST.

Y'all have a wonderful week,       Phil

Howdy, Phil.

Most of the actives in here ended up ACEs.  And the ACEs from Wireless and DSL feel more welcome there, so I guess we're just all hanging out there.  Does seem a shame to let this area sit quiet (too quiet).

If I remember correctly, Ben Franklin is crediting with writing a letter proposing the idea; but I think he meant it as a joke.

Anyway, Happy: All Saint's Day, November and Friday!

Well, I'm not sure how everyone else's Halloween went, ours was pretty quiet. Son brought home a 5x5. Went to school and ran back and forth between Kindergarten and 4th grade with grandsons halloween parties. Watched one wrap up in toilet paper as a zombie and the other make goop. Then home to a fairly quiet evening with a grounded 11 year old quietly crying because she didn't go out....guess you shouldn't spend the evening before with a friend who tells your mom things like, Tavri, don't cuss out your mom....Tavri, quit mocking your mom.....Tavri, don't use that finger at your mom....and when your mom says, I'm giving you one chance to adjust your attitude and apologize or you're grounded until further notice and not going trick or treating.....Tavri, don't cuss at your mom....well....let's just say, mom stuck to her guns. Watched some tv, had a good roast and relaxed. Now to get the deer to the processor and hunters off to Elk hunt. No rest for the weary...as for Tavri, guess the house will be getting a good cleaning this weekend. Her mom is not very nice when mad. Smiley Very Happy  Now, personally, I'd call this a 4x4 but they say that those little spikes are longer than an inch which qualifies it for a 5x5...so whatever it's a biggie.

Phil - I do miss the banter on the U-Verse Lounge.

I wonder if Uniblurb3 has heard about the exploding Jeeps.  Scary.

Hey guys, I am usually lurking around here reading some of the posts.  I miss a lot of the people who were here when I joined in 07.  I have been thinking about Pip, and Showtime, and several others, wondering what they are up to.  The last time I tried calling Pip she was in the hospital at the time.  And that was a few years ago.  The forum is really different, but it is good to see a few originals still are around and posting.

I joined in April 08 but never communicated with Pip or Dennis.  I was kind of a "new kid" and they didn't have much to do with me, lol.  Not sure what they are up to.
