Part of #297 got lost in the forum crash early last week. But we'll get #298 rolling along here. A gorgeous day here after a quite cool night, for this time of the year. We now have a steady supply of tomatoes coming off our four plants. Can't beat the flavor of a beautiful tomato which has been fully ripened on the plant.
Sitting here watching the 3rd round of the PGA championship. Wow, what a beautiful golf course. Gives me the itch to resume playing golf. Have not played but three or four times in the past 25 years. But my wife and I used to play 3 or 4 times a week back in our Iowa days. We lived only 1 1/2 blocks from a nice little country club with a rather hilly 9 hole course. A great way to relax after a fully, stressful day at work. I miss it. But getting back to golf is not possible now. So I watch the tournaments. Then....we're just about back to football season. It would be nice if our Chiefs could get things back together and have a decent season. I don't have much hope for our K.U. Jayhawks.....but miracles are always possible I guess.
Everyone have an enjoyable week and, as Bob & Ray used to end their radio shows, "Write if you get work....and hang by your thumbs." Only ancient ones among you will remember that one.

Broiling hot and dry throughout the week down here ... went to go get the car washed this morning ... instantaneous rain.
I have got to get away from this Murphy chap that keeps following me around ...

Murphy was an optimist....

Yep. I've had problems with ol' Murphy for many years.
Perhaps I should start a new thread for this but I'll see how much interest there is. I think it is pretty much daytime over in China about now. And the Pandas in the Chinese preserve are up and eating and active. There IS a web site with live cameras in a good many different positions. And there is just barely enough English on the web site to help viewers who choose to browse around the site. I'm gradually learning my way around...for a beginner:
Have a look if you're so inclined. There is audio also. I have found it fascinating.

Hello fellow sky watchers. This weekend mother Earth will pass through the comet debris tail that produces the Perseids Meteor Shower. So grab a cold one....or two....and the lawn chair for an couple of evenings of astronomical fireworks......IF your sky is clear and you can get away from city light pollution:
Good luck. Hopefully Murphy will take the weekend off, S.J.

To answer the questions about our audio drop-outs that were posted in WOTT 297........
It is intermittent. Usually occurs when there is a break....like between program & commercial or visa versa....and, as far as I know, the audio won't come back unless we switch to another channel and then switch back. Audio is restored then....and the drop out may not occur again for several days. We never know when it's going to happen. We had this same problem a year or so ago and then it seemed to go away. Then....a month or two ago....it started to happen again...occasionally.
Not a biggy. Just an interesting puzzle.

Well the audio problem seems to be spreading although I'm not sure mine is exactly as you discribe. I was watching a VoD movie on Cinamax this past Sunday evening and several times during the movie I lost audio. Picture was fine but the audio was gone. The only way to restore it was to rewind a couple of minutes and then start it again.
Then close to the end of the movie I lost picture (black screen) but the audio kept playing so I'm not sure what's going on.
