How is everyone's weekend? We had a bit of snow this morning, acfter raining most of the night. No accumulation. This winter will not end!

Gorgeous day here today, Dave. Got up into high 50's and my wife and I went for a long walk. I can't walk as fast as I used to. If I push it too hard my blood/oxygen saturation drops below 90%....even with the portable tank valve turned up to almost its highest setting. So I walk slower and keep things under control that way.
Think maybe I'll go to bed a bit early tonight.....or should I say...early for me. Which means before 1:00 AM.
Our granddaughter's wedding shower is tomorrow. Not for us males in the family.....just for the ladies. So hope it's a nice day.
Have a great week, Dave, and also wish that for everyone else.

I guess you don't want to hear about our upper 70s and 80s this weekend and all this week. Chance of rain on Tue/Wed and I hope we get a lot of it. Our lake levels are below 70% and no relief in sight. We're already 5" below normal for the year and that's through 3 months.

Ha! We had high of 80 today. So take that!
Actually tonight is really beautiful. Sky is crystal clear and Jupiter and what appears to be Mars are quite bright. I know summer is coming because the constellation Orion is disappearing in the west earlier and earlier as the nights wear on.
As my life winds down.....I often look back and think about things I wanted to do that I never got around to doing. As a kid I wanted to learn to play drums. Well that didn't happen. Then....I got interested in astronomy.....and still am. But never had the opportunity or a mentor to help me build a telescope. I remember writing to the Grolier Society, publisher of the famous Book of Knowledge, and requesting plans for construction of a telescope. Well....the envelope came and there were my instructions. But it was for a reflecting scope and I would have had to start from scratch.....including grinding and polishing my own mirror. That was just a bit too ambitious for just a kid of 9 or 10 years of age. And I never got around to doing it. Nor did I ever purchase a scope. Now I wish I had done so but it would be an expenditure we don't need these days.
I wonder what y'all would have done that you skipped doing if you were able to go back and start over.

This evening was one of the man times I'm glad I didn't have satellite tv. We had some pretty severe thunderstorms and intense hail at my house and tornadoes to the east and west of us. If it wasn't for the local weather would have never known just how close they were. My area was lucky that we only had quarter size hail, some spots in Denton to the west had softball size hail, others in Prosper just north east of us (about 5 miles) had tennis ball size hail.
