Let's see....it must be Saturday.  Whoops.   Dave got stubborn this week.Smiley Very Happy  Happy New Week all.

Been sitting here watching the movies "Elizabeth" and "Elizabeth - The Golden Years".  Both good but #1 was better.  I'm an English history nut.  Ancestors came from Wales and England in the 1800's.

As most of you know I have a NetGear Router set up behind the RG.....but it is connected to the data port on the STB in the living room so that the router is located more centrally in the house.  Well......a bit of history:  When my wife got her iPad....my 1 1/2 yr. old HP printer/scanner would not work with the Apple Air Print.  So I had to buy a brand new printer which was Air Print compatible.  Now....tonight I updated the NetGear Genie program and the new version contains provision for making a non-air print printer.....compatible so it will work with Apple products.  Durn-it.  Wish that had happened a couple of years ago.  I would not have had to buy the new one.  Oh well.  Story of my life.

OK....off to bed.  G'night everyone.

Good morning all.  Had an extremely busy week working in the sales department for renewals.  Our early renewal discount period ended yesterday and everyone that waited until the last week to get their 15% discount made it crazy.  Will probably be going back to technical support on Monday Smiley Sad but that is the job that I was originally hired to do.  It's not that I don't love my job, it's my coach (manager) that I can't stand and our department is more like the red headed step child now.  We are outsourcing (all US based) the majority of our systems support now but they still haven't figured out how to budget accordingly.  Due to budget contraints we are not keeping as many of our partner agents on over the off season and we needed to watch how many minutes we send them so the few of us full time agents are slammed while the partners only get a few calls per day.  Hoping when our hiring freeze is lifted on Aug 1 I can transfer to my sales role permanently.

Phil, I have the original Canon digital Rebel and I love it.  It does need to be cleaned now as it has a spot that just appeared but it still takes great pictures.  I'm looking at upgrading to the new rebel just for the ability to print larger sizes without distortion.  I've been completely digital since 1995 starting with a Minolta that the highest resolution was 640x480.

OFID....check out Canon's brand new EOS Rebel SL 1.  It has all the technical refinements of the new T5i minus a few convenience controls.....and it is much, much smaller and light weight.  I was impressed....but decided to hold on to my 4 yr. old Rebel XSi.  I think I'm going for the new lens however.  That SL 1 may just be the most compact, full-featured DSLR on the market.  Of course it accepts the Canon EF S digital lenses.

For all the shutterbugs on here.

I was surfacing around some of the software makers.  Corel, which produces Paint Shop Photo Pro.....a less expensive....but very competitive photo management and editing program which competes with Adobe PhotoShop Elements......also produces an even less expensive photo editing app named "After Shot Pro".  I downloaded it for a 30 day trial run.  Seems to be a very thorough and competent, more or less entry level app for the purpose.  I was curious how it performed and I've been playing around with it.  Pretty good and quite versatile.  If you've been looking for something along this line you might also download it for a trial and if you like it.....it's on sale for $49.95 right now.

It seems to have lots of little extra features tucked into this program.  You might like it.
